How diverse and complex is Portuguese language? the Portuguese literature? difference in Portuguese portuguese and Brazilian portuguese? Are they almost two different languages? I speak Portuguese and understand lots of spanish (i live in the states), and the more i hear it, the more I'm convinced how similar the languages are. I think that if you revise the portuguese orthograph a little, you have the same languages. Any ideas? How different is Portuguese from Spanish? Which one originated from the other? Did they both branch off of an older language? Are they growing apart?

Also is it Spanish or Mexican? Yes I know they are the same but not entirely true, some people can tell of how they talk if is Spanish from Spain or Spanish from Mexico. For some reason I think is Mexican
