I mean, incorrect in its usage of prepositions. For example, one would say "ex urbe" and not "e urbe," and "a militibus" but not "ab militibus," because one uses "ex" or "ab" when the word starts with a vowel and use an "e "or "a" when the word starts with a consanant.

This is just like in english where we say "an elephant" instead of "a elephant" or "a pie" instead of "an pie."

So, shouldn't the latin phrase "ex nihilo" really be "e nihilo"?

An Indian discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the computer which can be named as "CON". This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable... At Microsoft the whole Team, including Bill Gates, couldn t answer why this happened!and they are trying to fix this bug. So, inform about this to all your friends.

TRY IT NOW , IT WILL NOT CREATE "CON" FOLDER

I'm taking beginners french for my foreign language requirement in college at the moment, but I would definitely like to have some really beneficial supplemental instruction. I bought a CD-ROM for 30 dollars recently, and it didn't help me much at all. Does anyone know where a good teaching assistant might be purchased at, or even downloaded off the internet from? Thank you.

This was said by Rene descartes ( a famous mathematician). :) and at the same time, someone please tell me how i pronounce his name : Rene Descartes.

This is what he said.
``Je n'ai rien omis.'' says he, ``qu'à dessein ... j'avois prévu que certaines gens qui se vantent de sçavoir tout n'auroient par manqué de dire que je n'avois rien écrit qu'ils n'eussent sçu auparavant, si je me fusse rendu assez intelligible pour eux.''

thanks loads ppl!!! you're saving my neck! :)

...people are there any names that translate. For example, Maria/Mary...Spanish and English. Are there any Asian, Spanish, French, Italian, or any others that have different conjugations/translations? If so, can you name some with their english-speaking equivalent? (I don't really know if Mary is an english name or not, I just guessed.)

"la vie est belle"
I'm guessing that it's Italian, and it means something along the lines of "the way is beautiful"...but I'm not sure.

I tried looking it up on some transaltion websites, but I only got a bunch of jumbled words...

does this ring a bell to anyone?
