I speak Spanish but I never got what was with the second e and u in E.E.U.U. why is it not just E.U. (Estados Unidos) What do the extra e and u stand for. This is probably common knowledge, and I probably sound ignorant for asking, but I really don't know and I've always been curious. Thanks.

Does any one know of good places that wouldnt mind someone practicing their German or French? If so, what are they/tips/pointers, ect. I'm also kinda unsure if they'd be friendly/patient towards people in my situation, but I'm so sick of trying to have a conversation with classmates who cant speak French well!

Could you help me understand reading English?
Hi. I have a question about the following writing.

Dear Annie: This is for "Struggling in Wisconsin," whose 19-year-old daughter is bipolar. I am 31 years old, have been married for 11 years and have two beautiful, loving and smart children. I also have bipolar disorder.

Please let this mother know it`s not the end of the world. I have been coping with this since I was a teenager. It took a long time to get a correct diagnosis, but once it was given and my medication was updated, no one would ever know. My son was diagnosed as bipolar last year.

on the second line from the bottom, it says "but once it was given and my medication was updated, no one would ever know "

I want to know the usage of "would" in this sentece. I know "would" is differnt with "will". In this sentnece, "would shows past or future or something else? I am kind of weak in English grammar so please let me know step by step. ...

I work in a nursing home, and this one disturbed resident keeps getting upset and muttering something that sounds like "ETT YODA"...sometimes like 5 times in a row. I think I could help to calm her down if I knew what she was saying. SHe's this really sweet old woman who really deserves the best care. Please help if you know what this means. Her last name is something like Guuttenburg (Sorry I had to change it a little for her sake) Thanks!!

"and comeon people, not everyone HAS to like the same thing so if you dont like them and you just wanna be in this for the points plz dont write anything like get a life. And inkybob, yes im 14 but i DO know how to spell its just a called "abbreviations" becuz SOME people dont feel like writing the whole god dang paragraph Especcially wen its that long."

I'm no English teacher, but I would consider that plain old misspelling, not abbreviating. It seems that people who absolutely cannot spell always turn to the old standby, "I was abbreviating." No, you weren't abbreviating, you were just being stupid. Stop denying it. You don't abbreviate "especially" with "especcially." Last time I checked, that's actually longer.
