The town I grew up in has the first house that Jim Thorpe bought. If you don't remember Jim Thorpe, he was an Indian that won many Gold medals in the olympics, quite a few years ago.
They stripped him of his medals a year or so later, because he played semi-pro baseball or football. Not sure which, just the point he had been a semi-pro player he was not elegible for the medals.
I believe a few years ago the medals were returned to his family. He and one of his daughters died quite a few years ago. He still has one daughter living in Oklahoma in the same town where the Jim Thorpe Home is.
It's nothing I would drive out of my way to see, but you'd be surprised when you look at the registry how many people are from out of state and made it a point to stop by.

There are some fairly cool old (1500's?) buildings in the suburb of Zurich I live in but I'd rather not identify it. In Zurich there are three cool churches: the two-steepled Grossmunster, the Fraumunster with stained-glass windows and St Peter's Church which has the largest clockface in Europe (or the world?).
