Just as small, slim, fat, thin, petite, pear-shaped or bosomy (in "certain" cases ;) are some of the words we use to describe the way people LOOK PHYSICALLY.

What could be the widely used words that describes someone's accent ???

Following are few celebs whose accent really tickles my fancy (along with the way I describe their particular accent, with some I don't have any idea about its description but any contribution to replace these "???" would be greatly appreciated):

>> Hugh Grant (plummy accent)
>> Pierce Brosnan (NOT his "James Bond" accent but his "real life" accent, as rather "peculiar but pleasant")
>> Richard Brandson (???)
>> Simon Cowell (deep accent)
>> Austin Powers (strong accent)
>> George Clooney (???)

How would people around here describe the accents in general & bearing in mind these celebs or any other celebs they've in mind ???

I came across that Tagalog phrase at the end of a "Dear Prudie" column. I ran a search on the web to try to translate it, but I wasn't able to come up with the translation.

I've noticed that in my school, most black kids take French, and not many take Spanish, Latin, or Italian. I have some black friends that speak it fluently, and sometimes I hear African American adults speaking French in public or on the phone. Maybe some of it is Creole, and I can't tell the difference, but I know for a fact some of it is French because some people I know that can speak it aren't Haitian and have told me it's French. Is there a reason why?

I want to be extremely bilingual but it has been so difficult to pick up other languages that I am getting discouraged. This is not something I am expecting to happen overnight and I have put in a couple of years.
