As the man said, the Foreign Office is responsible to Parliament through the Foreign Secretary and the Prime Minister for foreign policy.
The Home Office is responsible in the same way under the leadership of the Home Secretary. His main responsibilities are Policing, Prisons and Prisoners, Immigration and Passports.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with, or like, the Internet Home Page.................

I have discovered maximum British human beings to be rather well mannered and really relaxing. i'm an American, the son of a Scotsman, and if there grow to be ever a human beings to dislike the Brits, that's going to both be a Scot or an Irishman. turning out to be up, I spent a minimum of in the destiny a week playing football with foreigners, because it grow to be not a properly favourite recreation decrease back then. the transformations in our cultures clarify a lot of ways we come across them as such, yet once you get to carry close the individuals, you'll discover they are extremely a relaxing loving bunch and make as a lot relaxing of themselves because the do others. that's amazingly almost a British comical cultural component. They make relaxing of each and every others' well known communities, a lot as we do, yet their form of humor comes for the time of somewhat "off" with assistance from our criteria. So, merely attempt to comprehend our cultural transformations are what makes us see them because the "severe and strong, self-righteous assholes", (that and the very incontrovertible truth that we beat them for our independence and many are nonetheless bitter about that.)

The "home" in home office means that it is it's main office. Im sure that they have more that one office in the british government and those might be called branches, as in "branch" office of the British goverment. "Home" office is usually the office where the major people have their offices. I hope this helps.
