Just wondering, why do some people concider it offensive when someone says "Happy Holiday's". I start using this phrase this time of year when I'm talking to cashiers at the check-out. When I come across someone that I haven't seen in a while in the store, ect. I think it more appropriate to say "Happy Holiday's" so that it includes, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years. For people that I see on a regular basis and know that I will see closer to each & everyone of these holidays...I wish them a Happy Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New year individually; rather than lumping the holidays together. Also, on my Christmas cards I alway put that I hope they have a Wonderful Holiday Season.
Which do you perfer, & why? Just wondering.
So Happy Holidays,
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
A Merry Christmas, &
Happy New Year!

ok so im pakistani so we practice marraige between cousins. my brother was engaged to be married to my cousin, my dads brothers daughter, whom i love very much. but she died 2 years ago when she was 18. =[

so my brother, a year ago, said he wanted to be married to my other cousin, my dads sisters daughter. both my parents agreed because shes a great girl and we all love her.

so my mom called their house and asked her mom for her hand in marraige and they said yes, after asking her. my parents did this w/o asking my dads brother.

when my dads brother and his sons and daughters (they r all over 20) found out, they werent even happy b/c they were kinda jealous cause their daughter was supposed to get married to my brother.

so from tht day to now, they keep telling my dad false information abt my dads sister and her children. their objective is to get my dad to break the engagement. but i dont want tht to happen. wat can i do? can i even do anything?

Do you decorate for every holiday that you can possibly decorations for?
I can't help it. I was deprived as kid because we were poor. So to get into the spirit of the holiday with my kids, I decorate for most of them, atleast the ones I can find decorations for, even Valentine's Day..
Too, it's different, its fun and the kids just love it!!!!

My family always try to celebrate Thanksgiving.....although I was born and raised in the UK, my mother is American, and we all enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner when it comes around. This year, we are having to delay it until December 1st because of various other commitments....is this acceptable?

Have you ever really thought about what you are celebrating and why it is still being celebrated?
Thanksgiving was a massacre not a pleasant meal between the Natives and pilgrims. The pilgrims were too lazy to work their land as the Natives taught them to do so they murdered them by the villiage and stole their food reserves and then had a huge feast in honor of their own selfishness.
Still to this day Natives are depicted in a clownish manner on this holiday. Your children are still being taught lies and ignorance and therefore my children suffer.
How thankfull are you?

I know that on the 22nd we're supposed to show thanks for what we have, but if you think about it, isn't Thanksgiving one giant slaughter?? Millions of turkeys are brutally butchered in order to complete our Thanksgiving meal. Don't get me wrong, I'm still having turkey but it's screwed up if you think about it.
Any thoughts?

Seriously, they are trying to trim Santa down. Don't be surprised to find Santa with gaunt cheeks and a trim V-line in future.

Apparently, Santa doesn't project a good image anymore.

Poor Santa.

Just know we love you through thick and thin Santa!!!!

When driving home on friday evening I saw the first Christmas decorations of the season up in a house window, lights and all!

Part of the estate i live on is rented accomodation to the USAAF (I live in the UK just to clarify!) and I know a lot of them put up the decs for Thanksgiving (next week i think it is) but I think that the 9th November is a bit early!

Your thoughts on the matter? Anyone else seen any Crimbo decs up yet? Other than in the high street of course!
