It is not always the "last" thursday of November. If that were true then it would not be on the 22nd this year. Thanksgiving is the 3rd Thursday of November which is why it is on the 22nd this month and not on the 29th.

This year it is November 22, 2007. It changes every year. It is always the last Thursday of the month of November. The actual date always changes.
