It seems to me that Christmas and pretty much anything regarding a CHRISTian holiday gets the short end of the stick these days. Christmas had turned into nothing but a commercial holiday all because of money and greed. What store can promote the best deals and get the biggest sales, who can get up the earliest the day after Thanksgiving and fight people to get a crazy deal. Who gets their kid the latest toy that costs hundreds of dollars....They dont even show the Christmas movies and cartoons on tv like they used to because it might offend someone. Give me a ******* break! Last year it was all about the Charlie Brown Christmas and how the kids do the play and mention God. Well, its been that way for years and all of the sudden people are getting offended by it. Dont watch it then if you dont like it. Christmas is called CHRISTmas for a reason. This country was founded on Christian beliefs and it should stay that way. If people dont like it, move somewhere else. Its always minority rules though, one person out of a million gets offended and something has to be done. Well it wont be long before Christmas isnt even a holiday if this crap continues. Its just really sad!

Yes they always do. Every holiday has to have the biggest and best things to make sure that the companies that sell for these holidays make the biggest profit.;

Whats the true meaning of Christmas: to celebrate the birth of Jesus
What children think the reason is: Just to get presents

Whats the true meaning of Hanukkah: to celebrate the 8 days that the oil burned when the maccabees were hiding
What do most kids think: presents

Whats the purpos of Kwanzaa: to honor African American heritage
Most African Americans don't even bother to celebrate it

The way I see it, major religious holidays are becoming uprooted from their original meaning. It's great to tell kids that they can get some benefits of the holidays, but most parents don't even bother going to the temple, church, or celebrating Kwanzaa during these times and just go straight to the presents because even the parents fail to see the real reason behind thses holidays.

paractitioners of Hanukkah and or Kwanzaa generally don't insist on getting their way at the expense of all others.

Keep in mind, Christians borrowed the holiday from the pagans, and it is now a secular cultural holiday as well.

so be nice and share, or start a new holiday of your own. Since Jesus was born during the warmer half off the year (scholars have different interpretations, but agree it was NOT December), maybe you all should pick a time when no one else is having their holiday - if you don't want to share.
