I know this is not necessarily, but how did this get started? Also,it usually happens only in your own home. My son gets extra gifts on Christmas, not only that it's also his birthday but me and my husband give each other, actually, us 3 get extra gifts on Christmas!!! Everyone else gets a present, not stocking stuffers. Hee hee

I am going to be out of town during Christmas, so my boyfriend and his family are celebrating it tomorrow before I leave. We will be exchanging gifts tomorrow. Well, I'm super excited about giving my boyfriend his gifts (there are three), and I'm thinking about giving him one right now. He is sitting right next to me, and of course he wants one right now....so I can't really ask for his opinion. Should I give him one right now? Or make him wait till tomorrow?

Alrighty then, my mother got me a gift, and I took a peek at it out of anxiousness. This gift turned out to be one of the same gifts my mom had got me for my birthday only one month earlier. If I tell her directly then I'll get in trouble for sneaking a peek. I could tell my dad but there is a chance I'd still get in trouble. It is 5 days til Christmas. If I tell her when I get the gift on Christmas then she might feel bad and I may not get the thing I wanted that would replace that. What do I do?

Okay, suppose you have an elderly member of the family who is like an aunt or uncle type of member. They don't have a lot of money and usually ask that you don't bother getting them anything for Christmas because they can't afford to get you anything. In fact, they can't get out to even shop or look due to disabilities or inability to drive, etc. Have you been through this? What's an appropriate gift? Do you give a gift or respect their request?

My finance and I are getting married on the 27th of December. We are both 20 and are not fully legal to do some things. We live in Chicago and it is really cold here. What would be some things for newlyweds to do on New Years?

Or do you know everything that you are getting?

2006-12-20 14:13:15 · 7 answers · asked by whrldpz 7 in Christmas

Tell people something they know already,
and they will thank you for it. Tell them
something new, and they will hate you for it.
Modernity deprives us of the most basic right of all: the right to be traditional.
