A friend of mine is throwing her boyfriend a birthday party and sent out invitations requesting the invitee to RSVP. The party is at a restaurant, my friend thinks that people are expecting to pay for their own dinner. I think they are expecting dinner to be paid for. Who is right?

I am actually not that much overweight. My father actually has them, and his mother has them as well, so I figure they are genetic. Any tips on how to get rid of them? I have tried creams (cocoa butter & mederma.. didn't work that well for me..) Any other advice? ... (anything will help!!)

I started this job last week, about a week and a half ago. It is nothing like it was described to be, a lot of menial tasks and heavy lifting and cashier work when I was hired as a designer (I have a degree in art). Also, I really can't stand one of my co workers who is abusive and rude.

So I am applying for this other job and I am wondering:

1. will 2nd new job (if I get it) think it a negative thing that I only last a week or two at first job? (better to realize it now than after a year, right?)

2. Do I need to even mention it if they don't ask (not to lie but just don't explain it if not asked)

Listen I am not lazy, its just that I don't really like to work very much. I have just never found a job that doesn't put me to sleep. So since I am sleeping anyway why don't I just stay home, and enjoy some of the true pleasures in life; sleeping and eating! I think it would be pretty fun training for something like this. I could eat tons of steaks, bacon, eggs, drink glasses of butter(seriously it tastes good). My wife says she will leave me if I do it but my other gf is actually encouraging me. She says she will stay home and serve me so I won't burn calories. So my question is how much, and should I go for it? Thanks

I've got a budget of £5000 for 25 people. Can you think of anything that would be really creative and unusual.

Recently,I've asked 2 female friends out to lunch seperately. They are only SOCIAL friends, there's no romantic overture, just lunch. Both of them have EXPECTED me to pay for lunch, usually we dutch,or take turns picking up the bill.I've been on the "outs with my GF for 6 weeks now, but as far as I know they don't know that,(I certainly haven't told them).I feel now like they are using me,and its got me a lil mad. Do they know somehow and think "lunch" is now some kind of romantic thing? I certainly don't think so. mind you : I'm not cheap, just curious as to why

My ex boyfriend and his friends(not so much my ex, because he doesnt want to show he still cares) will not leave my new boyfriend alone. Im guessing since they cant do anything they try to start things with my boyfriend. Hes not a big guy. But then again neither are any of the guys trying to gang up on him and fight him. Also hes 18, all of them are 17 and younger. I have asked them to leave him alone, several times. They come up to his work and wont leave him alone, they come to gas stations, the mall, movies, basically anywhere they can. They have even punched a dent into his car. He has done nothing to them, doesnt even really know him. Then they call and say things to me,I've already been through this with them, they would call me and verbally harrass me. They have kind of settled that down, but still do it on occasion. I dont know what else to do! We dont talk to them, we dont anatagonize them. Is there anything I can do or him? (yes im female)

i did presentation in class the other day and got anonymous comments from people. two people said i was talking too low and too fast and because of that, gave me unsatisfactory grades. and this just pisses me off cuz i really worked hard on this stuff. i tried to condense it and not go too long cuz we were running late. i thought i talked loud enough and slow enough. so tell me, how can you tell if you're talking loud enough and slow enough?

A person who I have met a couple of months ago has just invited me to her wedding "tomorrow". We went out for dinner a couple of times and I don't think I am considered a close friend. What can I say to decline the invitation in a very polite way? Even a non extremist excuse would work.

We have a paved walkway from the street to my front door, yet he ignores the paved walkway and instead walks across our lawn and through a flower bed every single day! We have asked him politely to please respect our property and the great deal of effort we expend in order to keep our landscaping healthy and pretty. He gives us a nasty attitude and says things like "Carriers have been walking through peoples lawns for as long as there has been mail delivery". And the next day he's walking across the lawns and beds again. He will not stop. Am I being somehow unreasonable? Do I not have a right to insist he use the paved walkways that everyone else who ever visits our home uses? What would you do? I can't help but be appalled by his blatant disrespect.

If I asked My X to recognize, that he is My X now. Because he does not acknowledge this is no longer a relationship that is beneficial for either one of us. I need him to not call me as if we are still we. I am so single, but he says I don't really mean it. I don't call him. He leaves messages, and like 18 a day or by that time. I cut the ringers off. He will show up. I do Love him,I just can not be with him. I would date others, but I dread his intteruptions. I am thinking of freezing him out, no response what so ever. I got to MOVE ON! We share management of 130 staff and she and i are fairly new, though i ve been there 3 months longer, and her approach is very abrupt and overpowering. I dont think the staff are tarring me with the same brush but althogh Im trying to point out we dont need to bully the staff to get results shes very much Im a manger and what I say goes!!Im trying to say we're a team and we dont have to approach everything with an attitude that no one under us know what they're talking about or have genuine difficultiesif they cant succeed at everything in a very highly pressurised enviroment. We work for publc sector and her approach is having a demoralizing effect but trying to get that accross to her is like banging your head against a brick wall.
