i did presentation in class the other day and got anonymous comments from people. two people said i was talking too low and too fast and because of that, gave me unsatisfactory grades. and this just pisses me off cuz i really worked hard on this stuff. i tried to condense it and not go too long cuz we were running late. i thought i talked loud enough and slow enough. so tell me, how can you tell if you're talking loud enough and slow enough?

the only sure way is if people say lower your voice or speak louder,,, as for as a presentation in class, when you begin, you might ask if everyone can hear you ok,,,,,, that is really the only way to know in that situation, though its common courtesy in a class setting to speak up and say you cant hear,,,,,,,so to give the speaker the option of raising their voice a little,,,,, i cant believe anyone would sit there and not let you know then give you a bad grade for it ,

i became instructed a tip as quickly as that would desire to help. faux that the only individual you're chatting with is the only at the back of the room. for this reason, you will desire to undertaking your voice to verify they are able to take heed to you actual. (of direction, this doesnt recommend stare at them the completed time... have eye touch with all your objective audience). Take a pause after each and every sentence. no rely if that's an casual presentation, you may ask if all human beings is familiar with each and every now and then. no rely if that's formal, use the objective audience's physique language to evaluate in case you have misplaced them or no longer. that's often worry-free to tell while an objective audience is captivated. Public conversing takes practice.

I have the same problem. But, when I start a presenatation, I usually ask how long should I talk about what I'm going to. Then I ask the class if they can hear what I'm saying. My professor just told to talk like I would if I was at a football game or in a huge room full of students. When I talk I feel that I'm loud when I walk around and talking at a voice I would when I'm upstairs in my house talking to some down. Timing yourself can also help you talk louder and faster, but not too fast, but just enough that you get your point out. Hope that this technique helps you like it helped me.

If it's a presentation, you should ask them if they can hear you alright and to let you know if you should speak up or not.
When singing, I recall not singing loud enough, until finally someone told me. That's why they have microphones I guess. Anyway, microphones are wierd too, so if given a chance to practice with one before hand would be great.

If you're not talking loud enough or if you're talking too slowly, then the audience will start to fidget.
