Sounds like an utter and complete ****** to me!!! If what you're saying is true, then approach him and explain what happened over lunch. Make it clear to him that you are not required or responsible to read invitations for him or keep his dinner schedule in your head. Also let him know that he hurt your feelings. This is good way to soften up the mood.
On the other side of things, you may want to keep an eye on these types of work duties. If he's this much of an idiot, it might be a good idea to remind him of certain things when he arrives at work and right before he leaves

He will find someone who can help him out if you cant do it. Your boss probably needs daily reminders. He needs to be told what hes doing when to do it and where to go. He needs someone who is going to remind him of these things because he is to busy to keep track of it all himself. So at the risk of being a pest just remind him everytime hes got someting on the agenda, that way he cant blame you if he screwed up because you reminded him right.

Yes. I would not take it personally. But I would explain to him that you have everything on his calender and you would appreciate it if he could look it over every morning. And it he does and he is still missing meeting and etc. it could be that he has dementia, and that can be very frustrating for him. I hope that's not the case.

y dont you just start reminding him of everything? even more personal stuff like anniversaries, or stuff. Two things might happen. first he might wake up or second he'll think your are such a good person, that he will be nice to you

Yes. And remember that sometimes people are harsh to those around them because they are frustrated with themselves. Try to be patient, and in addition to writing things on his calendar, give reminders by telling him, or email or voicemail. Sounds like he is preoccupied with a lot on his mind. Good luck.

If he depends on you to be organized, he needs you to tell him what is up. He sounds like the creative type.
