Okay she's not my best friend anymore, but she was when she started sleeping with my then boyfriend of four years. Anyways, I have to show up at her bachelorette party tomorrow. I was asked to be in the wedding but politely declined. How do I do this? I really am over him, but their wedding? Ugh...

I always end up getting frustrated and pulling them out with my fingers, but then my fingers get all greasy and nasty - it just doesn't seem polite.

I know the standard response to an expression of gratitude is "You're welcome," but this response seems a bit formal for everyday interactions.

On the other hand, saying "No problem" seems a bit too casual.

Then there's "My pleasure," but saying this isn't always appropriate, because the thing you're doing to warrant a "Thank you" isn't always pleasurable.

What are some other responses that you use when you receive a "Thank you"?

We feel like we own enough stuff already (and are packed in a small apartment). Also, a lot of the guests will be 25-30, and don't have a lot of extra income to spend.

Yahoo answers have a good thing going, but there is always someone who can't ask or answer a question without being so cruel.

I mean, If I literally say hello! to people who walk in the store, they just look at me to shut up. Why can't people understand that we are just doing our job and trying to be friendly? Is everything really so corrupt that we can't even be civil to strangers anymore?

Is it okay for a man to call a 24 yr old woman m'am? Does m'am imply that the person looks old, or is it just a formal way of adressing someone young? Someone please tell me.

People are always saying, "have a good one" - one what? I'm confused, do they want me to have a good trip, good heart attack, good visit, good journey - I don't know what they mean. If they mean day, why can't they just say, "Have a good day"? Is that too difficult? What's up with this "have a good one" stuff?
