If your g/f wants you to have it and it is a gift, then I say take it. And don't forget your manners---"thank you".

Well, let me put it this way... I had a sugar momma for two years. I broke it off. Why? It bugged me. I work hard for a living, but still come up short... so why not just let it ride? I didn't like it. I adore women, and deep down inside, I want to take care of them. Not the other way around. It seems to me that taking a girl out and treating her right taps into the core of what it is to be a man. You say 'sometimes' so it may not be a big deal... in this day and age, women should be our equals, and able to kick us a few bucks now and then... Me, I couldn't handle it tho when it was all the time...
>>EDIT>> Ricardo - yeah, he sounds young, but having a sugar momma is often the provenance of the over 40 set... Me, Im 43...

i don't think you're wrong for taking money from your girlfriend if you really need it. Everyone is struggling now a days and even if you do work sometimes you may come up short it happens to the best of us. But if you are using her than shame on you and for the record and please pass this information to your mom a females who take money from a male and will not return the favor and does it purely for her own personal gain is called a gold digger. i state this because it seems as if your mom feels that only women should get money from men and not vice versa. i honestly think he isn't using her because he does refer to her as his girlfriend and not one of his " female friends ". most guys who are using women aren't willing to claim them.

Don't worry dude. You're just like most young, non-working, wanna be playa/pimp that hasn't been taught what it takes to be a REAL man is suppose to be teenager.
It's okay. Hopefully when you grow up one day, and finally meet a real woman. One that's more confident, educated, and doesn't have time for lil' weenie boys (trust me in the real world you ain't a man) then the one that you have now maybe, just maybe you'll see the light.

I think that more info is needed. Is she giving you money to go buy milk or is this money that you need to pay your bills? Why does she do this? Are you working your way through school and she's already established in her career? As a general rule of thumb, I would listen to your Mom.

Relationships should be 50/50!! There is nothing wrong with it if you NEED the money. Just remember to return the favor.

hmm seems a lil bit of a 1950's attitude. If you are in a loving and equal relationship you would give her money to make sure she is happy and taken care off right? well us women think the same way, we just want you to be ok. :) good luck breaking those gender barriers!

Of course not! I mean, if she wants to give it to you I see nothing wrong in taking it. She obviously knows why she's giving it to you in the first place, so consider yourself a lucky guy and just spend it!

it totally depends on the circumstances. if it is hurting her financially then you should not be accepting it, but if she is just helping you out a little (for instance, if you just lost your job and she has a high-paying job) then it is ok for you to accept her assistance while you get back on your feet.
