this is unbeliveable and uncomfortable...everywhere I am asians stare non stop at me...on the street, in stores, on buses. When I look at them they look away before I can make eye contact. It is really frustrating and I don't understand why they do this. I noticed other races don't do this...does anyone else experience this?

My father-in-law is retiring. We are trying to set up a suprise trip to Cooperstown. This is finacially unfeaseable for us to do on our own, but how does one tactfully ask people to donate to this fund?

We are always mimicking (sp?) your accents because they sound different from ours and I wondered if you mimic ours? Do you think our accents sound cool or do you think we sound uneducated in the way that we talk? Just curious!

You know like taking a test or performing on stage. Luck has so little to do with it. It has, one would hope, much more to do with practiced ability.

...a deep philosophical conversation about whether it is the Italian football (soccer) team or Paris Hilton who makes our cereal soggy in the morning, was it polite to ask my father for his opinion even though I had to repeat some of the things my new friend and I had already mentioned? I'm wondering if it was appropriate to stall such a serious conversation just to get my father's opinion also...

For clarification, I'm not questioning whether or not it is appropriate to dress that way. If they show it off, is it free game for staring? Or, can they expect to dress that way, and go unnoticed.

Not only does everybody know it was you, but it came out like a high pitched whistling sound because you were trying to hold it in.

You're driving, and as you are making any and every turn, the passenger always look both ways with you- in essence double checking your driving? It kinda bothers me and I think it's kind of rude too. Most people just do it out of habit though, I think...

Aside from the fact that one would no longer be conscious to have to deal with the distasteful conversation, it would make things more exciting if someone passed out.

And not just in the pool rooms, in some of the chatrooms too. Ignoring them isn't enough. They bully the kids and are so rude to the ladies.
Its really sad that there are guys out there who get off on alienating and degrading other people.

so...I'm on the E-train coming home from manhattan during the nightime rush hour and I notice that at one stop the seats are allready taken. When we stop, a group, mostly women get on the train and some of them end up standing almost directly in front of me.
I notice that none of the guys sitting down are willing to give up their seats to young women.
There are a few women standing in front of me. A couple are Black, and a couple are White.
At this point I began to have a moral dilemma.
#1 I wondered, if I give up my seat, does it say that I think women are inferior to men and need to sit down because they can't stand.

#2 then I wonder, if I give up my seat will the women think I am playing favorites.
Would the Black woman think that I'm giving my seat to the White woman?
Would the White woman think I'm giving my seat to the Black woman?
Would either of them think I'm biased ?

#3 Will all of them think I'm a pig for not giving up my seat to either of them?

solution?
