Aside from the fact that one would no longer be conscious to have to deal with the distasteful conversation, it would make things more exciting if someone passed out.

Oh yes it would. It may not be polite but the person talking to you doesn't know that you are holding your breath and well it would make any party more exciting if someone were to pass out.


(Pirates of the Carribean was fantastic i saw it twice)

I don't know about "polite," but it would certainly be effective. The chances of injury from hitting your head as you fall, though ... I'll just stick to spontaneous projectile vomiting.
