I used to want to become an american pro baseball player when i was younger and i thought that if i dyed my hair blonde and had blue eyes i would pass far being an american and go live there at the time i was only about six but i used to always practise the american accent and play baseball with myself which didn't work i still like baseball now, and my american accent is good i always liked the accent and i can make a really good american accent now. some people do mimic your us accents though but just as a laugh really like people do about other poeple's accents.

It varies.
Most NOO YORK & NOO JOISEY sound harsh on the ears ,I suppose one of the most annoying for me is the "Friends" voice - "I Know !"
Some American accents to me are almost pleasant ,I particularly like some of the Deep South accents - at university I had a few female friends from the southern states Texas and Louisiana (I particular liked Lisa`s Shreveport ,LA accent LOL).
I feel though that with a couple of exceptions Americans cannot do a convincing English accent ,but it`s hardly their fault when the majority of English accents in L.A. are not authentic as such - except for Hugh Grant most of the English in L.A. put on a generic English accent that doesn`t exist here.

Its too easy to found humour in your accents but its the way you make up words, miss understand grammar and your "valley girl" way of communicating that is so comical.
I imagine it is easier for you to mimic us than vice versa.
You are generally uneducated in comparison (with most of the developed world) I dont mean that in a derogative way,its just a fact.

Well haven't you got a nerve mimicking us Brits cheeky person you are, most of the Americans I have met are a bit loud and brash and talk incessantly about themselves and America, not too fond of the ones I have met so far but guess I haven't met the right ones yet hey.

depends on where your from, but a lot of US accents sound uneducated, mostly their a bit annoying, you take our language, chew it up and spit it out again. But apart from the accents americans are generally very nice

Americans are far more laid back and lively people. Ive only ever been to New York - -people are friendly.
BUT also, at times you do seem a little uneducated...the americans should get out of their country more.
Overall - Americas a great country to live in!

When Americans get visitors calling they greet them with a hearty slap on the back and a big old hearty welcome. Then within minutes of leaving they visciously slag 'em off. Americans don't really understand the British dry/quirky sense of humour, and assume we have all met the queen, because of this relatively tiny island we live on!

I have to wonder how many of these people who are writing derogatory (or at the very least, unkind) answers are Cockneys and pissed off about it. har har har! I'll keep my Georgia accent and be on my way now, ya'll.
