After living in the USSR/Russian Federation for much of my life, I've moved to Canada and frequently visit the U.S., and I have noticed many people who are mining up their nose! If a Russian did this in Russia, he would be ridiculed to no end. Besides, that's what Kleenex are for, and they are nice quality here in North America; some people here don't use them, and it makes me wonder why since digging for gold up the nose is pretty gross and dangerous (germs, pop vessels, etc.). Just curious about whether this is a cultural difference...

I was born in asian community and has western education now i am back to live in Asia.

What i learn from Asian people is that greeting(manners) is very important. It just like part of your life but from the caucasian point of view, no greeting is still acceptable. For instance. some country like people to call everyone by their own name.. john..george + darling, honey or dear but in Asia you must use sir, madam and no honey, darling with their name because that's is not a kind of etiquette that they want you to learn.

How about you? Any similar incident?

And don't tell me that it's extending the middle finger...I read that the equivalent of that gesture is the thumb between the index and second finger. What are some gestures that are offensive? What are some that are just used in normal conversation? I am especially looking for gestures that the Germans do not have in common with Canadians/Americans.

I know I had a hard time trying to read this news article.

It was an accomplishment for me to finish reading an article of this nature. One of my biggest pet peeves is one who displays poor grammar.

2. Bad drivers.
3. Vulgar profanity - (Anyone who does this out of spite, I will report them.)

So my question is, what is your biggest pet peeve?

Hip hop is bigger than its ever been, but why are so many white youths turning into wiggers? I like the rap music too but hey come on im not gonna start acting black and wear big o'l football jackets in Los Angeles whens its like 100 outside just to look fresh. I remember when white dudes had their own music it was called Rock n Roll .....Be who you are,not what you see on MTV

And they started praying anyway and so i took out my cell phone and dialed a number and called a friend and started talking just to interrupt the whole table since they defied me. There is a man in my office who talks about someone, a woman, not sure who exactly he is talking about, but he is in his office, but loud, and others can hear him, including me. His voice carries, and people overhear him saying things about masturbation, private parts (in so many words), and other offensive comments. This man is a boss. What would you do?

A while back, I was driving towards the "exit" of my Apt complex when this girl who works at the Front Office of the Apt came speeding towards the exit as well. We both seen eachother and since she had the right of way, I slowed down and stopped to let her right of way to "exit". The thing was at the same time I slowed to make a stop the girl thought that I was going to "hit" her and not sure why but she became very angry towards me. The thing is I get crappy service from the same girl whenever I need to go pick up a package I ordered from Amazon or even from Ebay. What's her problem anyways? Does she have a grudge against me? or Is she still angry from the incident we had a while back? or Is she jealous? or Is she just plain stupid or What do you guys think? She won't smile at me, won't help me get my packages from the closet in their backroom, she always has a bad attitude with me and whenever another tenant walks in to get their packages the girl smiles at him/her and help tthem out

I had recently gone to Circuit City and Best Buy looking for something. I've noticed that there are more men than women working in those two stores. The thing is, since I was a women I was treated unfairy as to if I was born a guy I think I would have gotten a decent customer service. Do you think it's territorial meaning I shouldn't have gone because those kind of stores are for "Men" only or what's going on in our world today? Has any other women experienced this before?

Can it be considered hilarious or rude to just walk up behind and yank then down. They are so gross and make a guy walk funny that I think it would be a blast----just too chicken.

It seems like recently this has become THE greeting in America. I am so sick of people saying "Hi, How Are You," and not really taking the time to actually listen to the response. I would be fine with just a "Hello", and I hate being expected to say "good" or "fine". These words are not descriptive at all, and it seems like a completely scripted conversation (if you want to call it a conversation) that I hear so much in daily life.

I'd like anyone else's feedback on this.
