What is the best way to butter your bread ?

In the public or at a restraunt or where-ever,,what is the preferred method ?

I know how to handle the bread and butter....just checking for others' methods....10pts. to...

the "correct" way is to tear a bite-sized piece from the roll or whatever, then butter the bite with your butter knife (taking the butter from the pat you have on your bread plate), place the knife back on the bread plate, eat the buttered bite, repeat as desired. this prevents you dropping a big hunk of pre-buttered bread on the nice linen tablecloth. (or, god forbid, on your nice clothes)

Actually there is some technique involved and requires 3 steps.

1. Grab the bread and press it down and side to side against the butter.

2. Grab another piece of bread and sandwich into bread (A) and rub them together until butter is even on both slices.

3. Unaware that everyone is looking at you, ENJOY!

PS: It really doesn't matter how you spread it as long as you enjoy it!

The best why i think is to buy the spray on butter that the better gets all over the bread without making a mess. All you have to do is do a quick spray and your done that's how i do it .
