for example, when a hispanic man commits a hate crime, its jotted down as a white man committing a crime but all the public sees is a hispanic man commiting a crime. Let me show you:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/parent/slinkardkarlin.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/parent/slinkard.htm&h=200&w=150&sz=35&hl=en&start=40&tbnid=o4SsqrUb5T1cCM:&tbnh=104&tbnw=78&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwhite%2Bhispanic%26start%3D20%26ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN

Scroll down to Miguel Karlin. Since Hispanic IS NOT A RACE, the statistics show him as a white person commiting a crime but on the news it makes it look as though a "racially" hispanic man commited the crime.
It seems as though politicians are palying thier cards both ways. They make it seem as though hispanics are committing crimes, but jotting it down as white people commiting crimes to balance the scales.

You learn something every day. Any thoughts?

why when a filipino person has a spanish last name....white, black, and mexican folks asks them "Are you mexican?", "Are you hispanic?"."Why you got chinky eyes but a mexican last name?"
People are so ignorant.

I especially don't like it when a white, black, mexican person confuses an asian person a different asian background like "Are you vietnamese?" "Are you jap?" "Are you chinese?"
It offensive and annoying. If they want to know someone's ethnic background, they should ask "Can I ask you what your ethnicity is?"

There is an afrocentric group in Long Beach. We are about learning about African history. How African history has branched out into Hispanic and other cultures. I am wondering how many people are out there that are interested.

I mean there so many different races, cultures etc. Why is there only a Black History Month? Why cant history just be for everyone? If anyone should get a fricken History Month it should be the Native Americans. What's up with that? I mean really im not being racist I just want to know why one group of people get it but others dont?

history with slavery? African american history does not start with slavery. African american history starts over in Africa but not when they were loading us on a ship but when we were Kings and quens and teachers of men from the east and west of the globe. I plan to teach all my children that. I thank God for Martin Luther King but im just saying Our history as African Americans does not start with slavery.

I'm not a wacko that wants to burn witches at the stake, but I do know that these sacrifices DO happen, and that the dark arts definitly play a huge part.
My question is why must innocent blood be shed, and WHO is this blood being shed for?

Before the 1970's, the terms never existed. Hispanic/Latinos, were simply refered to as white, black, amerindian (chicano), or mixed mestizo/mullato.

Why is it that today that Hispanic is viewed as a race and singled out as such versus all the other groups? How come there is a "white/non-hispanic" box, but no white-hispanic box to check?

What gives?

Even more than American men? I believe they are. They have the guts to get out of Iraq before it became all bad. They are intelligent, know how to treat a lady NO matter what the circumstances and I am sure they can hold their own in fights. Any more opinions? Come on! Girl or Guy ALL opinions are welcome and I will not give the thumbs down to any answer!

When I was growing up whitle my parents were trying to get fiancially settled my father's mom from and many of my mom's family members all lived with us under one roof. My father's mother did not liek my mom and her family because she felt like they were teaching me to not be feminie by letting me play outside with my brothers and letting me play soccer while I was little and letting me whilste. And she told me that "boys don't like girls who are smart" My mom and her never got alone because my mom was Creole and my grandma was mad at my dad for picking a non-jamacian or a non-domincan wife.My grandma was born and raised in the Carribbean during the late 1930s and 1940s and whistling was considered taboo there and girls were suppose to stay and the house and help her mother with the chores. My mom and dad also wanted me to play and let the world be my oyster and they were always proud of my intelligence.Has anyone grown up like this?

Do you agree with the Continental (Spain/France/Italy) practice of introducing wine (often diluted) to children at a young age? Does this give them a more mature/responsible attitude towards drink in later life and set alcohol in a family/social setting or should any form of alcohol be taboo until adulthood?

black people get mad when you call them black but they can call you white all they want. also i dont like it how black people use the words honky and cracker but if a white person even mumbles the word ***** they get angry. I also dont like it how they yell at you and tell you that their "african american" but they wont even say caucasian to a white person. and white people are racist?!? you guys can have black colleges, black television channels, and awards! but the day that you find out that there is going to be an all white college you throw a fit. sounds like some people are using certain HISTORICAL events to their advantage.
