Does that prove some kind of deep need to take a dominant or submissive role?

I am watching, " Brighton Beach Memoirs", and they just showed the graveyard scene where the relatives put small stones on top of the headstone. Why? Their only explanation to the young man was, "Custom."

I'd like to know a few things. As an asian (chinese, specifically) girl living in China, I've been curious and have been searching on the internet. Why do/may so many of you believe in cultural/racial stereotypes? Is it because you were raised to believe as such, or you just stick to what you think because you know no better? I've seen unbelievably idiotic statements such as 'asian girls are submissive and exotic' or 'some chinese girls think fat guys are better because they are all thin so only fat men are powerful.' I'm only talking for myself, but there is no one who could call me passive.

I can't cook. I love debating. I'm Christian. English is my first language, with Mandarin and Cantonese following a close second. I'm independent. I'm a feminist. I'm easily angered, and I have little tolerance. Where does it fit into this ideal asian girl? I've seen many of you here talk confidently - and ridiculously about asians.

Why do you believe things you don't know are true?

This is not a racist comment and I don't expect racist answers. I am looking for something more historic about how the races mixed at least in Mexico (Indians, White and Blacks) an the reason why this didn't happen in the US and in Central America (Belize, Honduras, etc.)
Was it because we "welcomed" the Spanish based in old beliefs? was it because there were so much love among all people that they just started to hang out with? if that actually happened, it should be considered a way to follow for this modern era were racism seems to divide people, families, friends, countries...
