Does that prove some kind of deep need to take a dominant or submissive role?

Of course there are exceptions but by way of comparison, we here in Canada are decidedly unimpressed by our celebrities. They can walk down the street without being mobbed and are trerated more or less like regular people.

What country in this world DOESN'T treat their celebrities like royalty? It's not just an American phenomenon.

No, no ..... it proves that people like to look up to people .... they want stars, super-stars and mega-novas .....

...it is like the church... it is not enough to have saints because what is also wanted is angels and archangels.....

....it's ok, there is such a thing as a hierarchy ... the country was founded on the insistence on equal rights, not equality.... otherwise, I would be required to do badly in my work because someone else did badly in their work ... you are a little mistaken in that assumption you made...

...it is not a quesiton of submissiveness or even dominance... it is just a recognition of fact .... did you not have a valedictorian in school ?... is there not a prom king & queen?.. don't some animals have pedigrees ?.... aren't there 5-star generals? . and then, Charles de Gaulle who rose above it all when he asked, "How is it possible to govern a country that makes over a hundred different kinds of cheese?"

The sky is the limit!

i don't see them as royalty. I just see them as regular people that have the spotlight on them for whatever reason. To be honest, I'm not sure why people are so interested in them. The paparazzi is only interested in them because it's their job.

it proves that people are stupid, and they treat people with money like they need to be worshiped. paris hilton is an example, an absolutely no talent worthless bag of trash, that gets media attention, record deals, celeb "A" list invites, TV shows... all because daddy and mommy are rich beyond belief... it makes me sick
