Wrong on 2 counts. We do not do any kind of blood sacrifce and since you "know" that we do you ARE a wacko!!! I do not know where you got this information, but they are very close minded and ignorant! We do not use children or animals in our rituals! We consider all life sacred and to be protected. We do not cast "evil spells"! It is against our very being. We live our religion (24/7) which can be loosely summed up in our "rede" and that is "Do what thou wilt an in it harm none". We believe that everything we do will come back times 3 so why would we ever want to hurt anyone or anything? We do not put evil spells on anyone as some might have you believe. We do not worship the devil. (We don't believe in the existance of a devil) We do our best for humanity and the environment. If we were being influenced or led by the devil, why would he teach us how to use healing herbs and why would he want us to advocate saving the earth? Why would he want us to use our very being to help others? Doesn't that sound more like of "God" than of "Satan"? Can we be so mislead that we spend our entire lives doing good things for people & nature in any way that we can that we are actually doing the work of the "devil"?!?
Get real.
Try reading a decent book on Wicca or witchcraft by Scott Cunningham or Raymond Buckland, they will dispell any myths that you have obviously been bombarded with, instead of reading crap writtten by some Christian zealot and find out for yourself. This is not the middle ages, and even then it was not a practice among witches but might have been with the ancient Druids (and believers in the "Old Testament")..
"A mind is like a parachute, works best when open" obviously yours is not!
IF anyone is doing sacrifices they are not witches! They are pretenders using the term 'witch" to cover a disgusting behavior. Giving those of us who are true to 'the craft" a bad name.
If I seem angry, well maybe I am. Seems like every time I turn around someone is calling us names and making untrue accusations. I don't do that to you, none of us do until you start making stupid statements. If you have not actually resarched something don't make accusations. And I don't consider "I heard it from...." or "I read it in some Christian publication" to be research.

Who are these people? I don't know anybody who sacrifices children, and I know an awful lot of witches. Animal sacrifices (Also known as a pig roast or turkey dinner.) are another matter altogether. Who does the meat go to? Well, actually, the Gods get the fat and the bones. The meat goes to the people. It's a form of communion and thanksgiving festival and it has nothing to do with the "Dark Arts" whatever that is. Of course not all Witches do this. It's a religious thing, not a Craft thing. If the corpse is burnt completely or left to rot, it's not a sacrifice, it's a waste and generally frowned upon. Those sorts of things only loony folks do.
But I wouldn't claim to knowing any warlocks, it'd be insulting to whomever I was talking about.

Actually, witches don't make animal sacrifices. They are not allowed to do harm on anyone. They believe in the threefold law... that whatever you do, good or bad, comes back to you threefold. So if you are cruel to people or animals, you are going to get three times that cruelty.
Dark arts, I don't know much about. Because people who go around calling themselves witches are usually the good kind that I mentioned above. Then there's the crazy stuff you hear about in the news which isn't really witchcraft. It's cults, Satan worshippers, and all manner of people deluded into thinking that they must dress all in black and have scary makeup on and make sacrifices in order to be "real" witches. Basically they watched too many movies! Kind of like those kids a few years back who were playing at being vampires and then they took it the next step and started killing people.
edit in response to additional details:
Yeah, I know that animals and kids get killed for the sake of "rituals." But they're not sacrificed by witches and warlocks. They're sacrificed by people who think that they are witches and warlocks. Usually those people are later found to have had persistent and untreated mental illness for most of their lives. They can be perfectly lucid and convincing and get others to follow their lead. How do I know this? I work with people with severe and persistent mental illness.

Most witches avoid the dark arts at all costs. The only sacrifices are the rare, creepy ones that inevitably get discovered and end up in the news. It takes a seriously twisted person to sacrifice an animal or a human being. I don't even think the Satanists do it-they don't want to have to go to jail and lose their religious freedom.

In Judaism, God made the children of Israel offer an animal as a sacrifice to atone and pay for the person who sinned. So if I sinned, I would offer a lamb to pay for my sins. In Christianity, (which comes from Judaism historically) there is no sacrifice, because Jesus Christ came as the ultimate sacrifice and died for mankind's sins once and for all. As a Christian, I do not have to offer any more animals; I must accept Jesus' sacrifice for my sins.

They don't. Some voodoo requires animal sacrifice, as does Santeria. Satanists have been accused of child ritual sacrfice. Wicca is a relatively benign pagan religion. Traditional witchcraft is a series of skills and lore, but no sacrifice is necessary for any of their craft. (Incidentally, witchcraft, per se, is not religious, but Wicca HAS incorporated many elements of traditional witchcraft.
