I am 3/4 European and 1/4 Northern Middle Eastern Christian. I know no words of Arabic. I look like a dark Greek type.

with all the seemingly unstoppable gangs and gang violence in LA and elsewhere , I think one way to weaken them is to legalize all drugs.disagree? I mean that's their main resource for funding. Selling illegal drugs. Legalize them all and the gangs become much smaller and weaker. Also I don't think we will have any more or less drug addicts than we already do. They did it with liquor back in prohibition days. Disagree? why?

I am not an alcoholic before someone puts that in their answers, I have to find and attend and open meeting so I can report on it in one of my classes. Im just wondering if anyone knows what goes on at an open meeting do I have to speak and tell them about myself? Or is it okay to not speak?

The Canadian Yahoo Q&A political forum is a scary place dominated by a huge number of rude U.S. patriots. The UK/Ireland site is very different, less extreme & more accepting of differences of opinion. Is this a cultural difference or is the UK/Ireland page carefully censored ?

If we are teaching our children that race/color doesnt make the person, how come there is such a huge deal about when a non-white person accomplishes something? For instance, on FOX right now they are talking about the historical fact that 2 black coaches can make it to the Super bowl. In politics senator Obama is running for president. Arent we proving to our kids that racism still exists, just not in the violent form it did 50 years ago? What will happen when a hispanic person accomplishes these feats? What about a person that is Muslim? Where does it end?

This is absolutely true and each time I have had conversations with both Indian men and women they have mentioned how important this is but not why.

With the furore over the Jade Goody/Shilpa Sheety comments I was not overly surprised to see rather backward comments made by Shilpa Shetty's mum in yesterday's Daily Mail when she said that her daughter was not "the real beauty... [as] her sister had a much fairer complexion"....

I'm just fed up with reading how Jade Goody is so racist whilst Indian people are supposed to be so non-discriminatory. They discriminate against each other on the basis of caste and skin shade and use a lot of skin lightening products to lighten their skin [source: I live in a area with an Asian majority and go into Indian shops on a regular basis and their shelves are stacked with the things and people have admitted they use them].

BTW I am an ethnic minority and am looking at this objectively rather than jumping on the "I hate Jade Goody bandwagon"..

How does so called "Black Racism" impact the lives of White people as a whole?

That native americans, especially ones from wealthy tribes, pay absolutely no income taxes, if they have anything delivered to them on native land, say a car, they pay no sales taxes. Yet the state will use our tax money to pay for a new road to go to their casino! I know a couple of natives personally that get $17,000 a MONTH no exaggeration at all seriously $17,000 a month! Just for being native! There are 16 and 17 yr olds driving around in $70,000 vehicles! Then they whine how they are treated unfairly! What?!!! Unfair! A native's girlfriend I work with just turned 18 and bought a $375,000 house, $34,000 worth of furniture, his girlfriend a $60,000 car and also has a hummer valued around $75,000. What is wrong with this country to just let a certain ethnic people live here extremely wealthy and for free! Their only arguement is that we "Stole there land from them." News flash thousands of countries throughout time were founded by conquest not just the US.

My bf is a gypsy, I know barely anything about his customs, traditions, etc. We have been together for a year and he has not introduced me to his family or had me over his home. (He lives with his parents) I need to know honestly if there is any future for our relationship or if he is just using me and going to end up with a gypsy girlfriend or wife. Are gypsy men allowed to date from other cultures? I don't want to waste any more time on this relationship if theres no hope of it working out. Well I guess it isn't too surprising. These racists would not be able to voice their racist thoughts in the real world. On here, you can say "I hate blacks and negroes" and nothing will happen to you. The number of thumbs-ups(well I guess its "stars" now) that these questions get is ridiculous! It shows that racism is nowhere close to being gone! I never knew people believed in such dumb stereotypes! I know white girls that can dance and black people who are very educated!! Just because you see a bunch of dumb rappers rapping about drugs and violence on TV doesn't mean ALL black people are like that!

And why is Yahoo!A sooo slow in deleting these racists questions? Very suspicious.

i was wondering, is the word "semite" now commenly known as a word for jews? because arabs are semites also, so when you say antisemetic are you also being "anti" to arabs? but then how come some arabs are refered to as anti semetic. it seems like the word is being mis used.
