I do agree that was very clever.
How about this one:
My engine now is cold and still,
No water does my boiler fill;
My coke affords its flame no more;
My days of usefulness are o'er;
My wheels deny their noted speed,
No more my guiding hand they need;
My whistle,too,has lost its tone,
Its shrill and thrilling sounds are gone;
My valves are now thrown open wide;
My flanges all refuse to guide,
My clacks also,though once so strong,
Refuse to aid the busy throng:
No more I feel each urging breath
My steam is now condensed in death.
Life's railway's o'er,each stations passed,
In death I'm stopped,and rest at last.

On a tombstone for a train driver in Worcestershire.

Very clever play on words don't you think?

One day I was looking around the local cemetry, I was sitting in my disabled buggy, I aproached this grave and read what was on it. I started killing myself laughing after seeing what I read. An old couple nearby thought I was crying out of control and approached me asking if I was alright. I told them I wasn't crying but laughing, they said why, I said read that grave stone which they did and had a little giggle to themselves also saying we shouldn't be laughing at this poor persons grave stone. It read, Name surname son of Mr and Mrs Surname, DIed on date aged 41. On the bottom of the stone it said , And Who said life begins at 40.

This was the epitaph of the musician PDQ Bach:

Here lies a man with sundry flaws
And numerous sins upon his head;
We buried him today because
As far as we can tell, he's dead.
