with all the seemingly unstoppable gangs and gang violence in LA and elsewhere , I think one way to weaken them is to legalize all drugs.disagree? I mean that's their main resource for funding. Selling illegal drugs. Legalize them all and the gangs become much smaller and weaker. Also I don't think we will have any more or less drug addicts than we already do. They did it with liquor back in prohibition days. Disagree? why?

Hm thats a tough one. I mean on one hand you are right, someone who wants to do drugs is going to do them whether they are legal or not. These days you can get prescription drugs easier than scoring some crack on the street if you find the right dr (I mean when you are feigning an illness or something like that). Then when you abuse them or get caught with them you are completely legal.

As far as what that has to do with gangs I am unsure. I guess that most of the violence does stem from them selling on someone elses turf or ratting someone out to get out of their own drug charge but these are also people who thrive on hurting other people. Even if it wasnt a drug thing they would still kill someone for even walking on their turf. People in gangs arent just normal mentally healthy people. They have either grown up bad and see their lifestyle as normal or they could have grown up rich and spoiled and now just want to act like a gangsta for attention and to fit in where they never did before.

I only pray that I can keep my son away from people like that and that he will grow up respecting himself and others.

Honestly, I think we need a catastrophe or a hostile ground invasion. It is a little dark, but getting people to help each other and work together usually takes something devastating and harsh. Marshal law and doing searches and seizures on every home in America.....well, maybe not that far. The only sure thing is it would have to take something ugly to make the world pretty again.
