Can anyone explain the robes and uniform that priests (fathers) wear?

I'm watching the da vinci code and I was wondering why they wear it and what it means

White women like to lie on black men they dated, and falsely report them to the cops? I know they did that back in the day, but do they still do that??

My wife went out of her way to make sure that both of our children got not only what they needed, but what they wanted. Within a day none of that mattered! A lot of money spent for nothing! You can't buy LOVE!!!
What is your thinking about the commercialization of Christmas? I know God didn't mean for it to be this way!

I've talking to this girl on Facebook I really like. She's a sophomore, I'm a junior.

Well we've only talked for two days, but when school starts back up on January 7, I want to try to meet her in person.

I plan to ask how her new years went first, then say something like "so i never see u at school...r u in a lot of smart classes or something?"

maybe i'll hint that "we should talk at school sometime" or something along those lines (that's more thought out).

But what would I say when I finally meet her face to face?

I know breaking the ice in person for the first time would be hard, but what would I say?

"Hey, I'm that guy from Facebook." NO!

Should I be like "Hey, I've finally seen you for the first time at school. What's up?"

If you have any ideas, please help me!

Thanks!

At least not the same kind of faith Christians talk about today.

I have been, and I politely decline.

If this happens to you, how do you handle it?

Hope Morgan don't mind this, but I thought of this when the question was asking about the wringer washing machine.

Does any one ever remember the stretchers that we use to put in the pants leg to stretch them out after they were washed? We still have them here to this day that we used back then.

There have been times where my self esteem was shattered and ripped to schreds.

I know Biblically we are supposed to die to self see John 3:30 and crucify the flesh,

My question is what are good godly ways to biblically love oneself and not always be so "needy"?

What are good ways to love yourself and respect yourself and start the process of healing and restoration.

Thank you for all your answers God bless you and Happy New year hugsoooooooooooand blessings e4g

We have a 'new' family member who keeps sending cards & gifts for appropriate occasions, but she always signs them as from her spouse's name & her name. . .never by his relation. This is on my last nerve. Everyone thinks I am over-reacting about the situation and think I should just be 'grateful' they are sending cards.

Am I over-reacting? How to deal with it to them as when I broached the subject with both my spouse, and the relative that is her spouse I was blown off. I just get so irked because my children are not to call this person by name but title.

Thanks!

The last two years have been shitty for me for the most part. I went mental for four months about a year ago and had to spend an extra year in college as a result.

Three years ago around this time I was a junior in college and partying out in the woods, smoking pot and drinking liquor. Had tons of friends and was well-known throughout my campus.

Now I am barely known in the area I live in and in the midst of losing my job. Slowly things are coming back together (actually this time around the ladies like me more) but will they ever be like they were before or is it just time for me to adapt and realize that smoking pot and drinking is no longer in the cards?

that we should follow all the laws as set down in Leviticus or are they only picking and choosing those they like? (And yes, I'm aware that Leviticus is in the Old Testament but the Bible is the Bible, and supposedly all of it is the word of God!)

I have two acquitances: an evolutionist (atheist) and a creationist (christian). When the topic of homosexuality comes up (like it always does) they have two different theories.

The evolutionist tells me flat out that my lifestyle is against the way things are suppose to be. It's unnatural. You know, violates Mother Nature. In the animal kingdom there is male and there is female and they procreate. My choice just doesn't go along with evolution. I guess in Darwin's view, the strong survive and mutliply and I don't. So much for homosexuality and natural selection!

My creationist friend tells me I somehow got a demon in me and it possessed me to choose a wicked lifestyle. However, I can be redeemed and she has even invited me to church and bible study. Once I get it out of me my slate's wiped clean and life goes on.

So, in your opinion, who is friendlier towards homosexuality - the evolutionist or the creationist?

Seriously...why are people taking the time to come on this forum simply to insult other peoples beliefs? If you don't believe in a religion - you can post your opinions, but there's no reason to be needlessly derogatory.

The mark of the Beast is a brand of disobedience to God. Not only must this involve rejection of God’s sign of obedience, the Sabbath, but also the acceptance of a counterfeit sign or mark. This mark is, in reality, a brand deriving from Babylon and Rome. Is there such a symbol that has come all the way down to modern times?

Sun Worship—Satan’s Ancient Counterfeit

In ancient Babylon, the kings served as high priests of the sun, Bel-Marduk. “To take the hand of Bel-Marduk” was part of the ceremony of installation as king in Assyria and Babylon (“Babylonian and Assyrian Religion,” Encyclopædia Britannica, 11th ed.). The celebration of the winter solstice around December 25 was regarded as the birthday of the sun. It was a major holiday associated with gift-giving and the sacred evergreen tree.
