So doesn't that mean breathing is what makes a human alive?
So if a person wasn't breathing they would not be alive?
True or false?

...do things that are clearly forbidden in the OT?

I do understand the food issue (e.g. the Bible talks about not eating shrimp), as something that Paul had a vision that told him to eat whatever he wanted.

But the Bible also makes rules like not wearing clothing made of two fabrics.

I have heard some Christians say things like, "Jesus fulfilled the OT." But I really don't understand what they mean by that, because Jesus also said that he did not come no do away with the law.

Thanks in advance

GUYS: You are somewhere out in public, and you are around other guys. Next another guy comes up to you and says "Hey boy hey." What would you think that means? How would you respond?

For awhile now I have always prayed to myself instead of out loud. The thing is my boyfriend can't accept that. I feel like he think I don't pray, because I don't pray out loud. Why is it that he can't accept me for this? He tell me that I need to stop doing this. I just don't understand why he has accepted everything about me but this?

Hello I was just wondering about the satanist and what they believe in. I read somewhere that it is in self indulgence and not abstinence.
So what do they believe in? Tell me about it. I am curious to see what it is.
They dont even believe in Satan or God do they?
I read somewhere that a Satanist biggest "sin" is ignorance. Is that true?

If you must believe (at a minimum) to be saved - how many of all humanity that ever lived will actually qualify to pass through the pearly gates?
We can exclude everyone who hasn't heard about Jesus.
We can exclude everyone who has heard and find this exclusive message just to humanistic to believe.
Possibly everyone before Jesus who didn't even know (If you say everyone who had the hope of Jesus thats pretty exclusive too).
All of Asia for thousands of years is out.
I think 2% of all humanity is a ridiculously high percentage. I expect 0.02% of all humanity may possibly have the opportunity to qualify for the fundamentalist Christian heaven.

This is a test of your faith to see what you know and to see what kind of solid foundation it has. Do not quote scriptures from your faith, just give me facts based on proof that your religion or beliefs on evolution are correct. There are no wrong answers. Before I close this question out I will comprise a list of bad and good answers based on my oppinion.

I just saw someone ask if the movie "I am Legend" is a metaphor for religion with Will Smith's character being god. When will this new trend end? It's tiring to hear how every movie that comes out is some sort of religious metaphor, either positive or negative.

Yule is the celebration of the re-birth of the Sun after Winter Solstice. Early christians simply changed it a bit and said that it was to celebrate the birth of the son of god.
And when you look into history, the "census" of King Herod (that made the mythological Joseph and Mary go to bethlehem) was held in the summer to facilitate the whole affair. So even the date of the supposed birth of jesus is highly suspect. (as is Luke's assertion that the duo had to travel to Bethlehem because they were of the house of David. An assumption that is also very highly suspect)

So christians, since this IS a pagan holiday, please take your iconography out of it once and for all, Ok?
Thanks.

There are so many horrible things happening to people all over the world.

People suffering the effects of famine, living in third world countries - what are they being punished for? Explain the deaths of babies?

If there truly is a god - it appears he lacks empathy.

Can somebody prove me wrong?

Mine is the dog knocking over the fully decorated Christmas tree.... many times. Don't know why we couldn't get that tree to stand up right. Poor dog just had to walk by wagging her tail and the tree would fall over!

To All Christians everywhere:

Christ may not have been actually born on December 25th,
However,
His wonderful conception took place
about this time, December 25 5 B.C.-
as history suggests His actual birth
around September 29th, 4 B.C.

We have much to be Merry about,
as Christ came down to this earth,
and was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

This is what we celebrate!
Let's Keep Christ in Christmas
and Our Joy!
