why do sincere questions get answers from christians that more or less amount to punditry and proselytism?

I'm sorry you've had to go through watching various "shove it down your throat" attitudes of various Christians running around here online. It happens in the 3-D world too. But since we're all human (even us Christians), answers are going to range from the plausable to the downright bizarre, with lots of proselytism thrown in.

Many Christians are just so excited about what they believe, that they can go really really overboard trying to share their beliefs.

As a Christian Preacher it is NOT my job to convert you.
That is the JOB, if you will ,of the Holy Spirit.
My purpose here on Y/A is to answer questions as honestly and straight forward as I can.
