If you must believe (at a minimum) to be saved - how many of all humanity that ever lived will actually qualify to pass through the pearly gates?
We can exclude everyone who hasn't heard about Jesus.
We can exclude everyone who has heard and find this exclusive message just to humanistic to believe.
Possibly everyone before Jesus who didn't even know (If you say everyone who had the hope of Jesus thats pretty exclusive too).
All of Asia for thousands of years is out.
I think 2% of all humanity is a ridiculously high percentage. I expect 0.02% of all humanity may possibly have the opportunity to qualify for the fundamentalist Christian heaven.

Why do they call it Good News? Oh I get it - there are many rooms in the Father's house and no one is in them!

I think it seems too narrow. If you really think about things.

Guess we'll get the answer when the Day of Judgement comes. Two big groups...one man in the middle...believers on one side, those who rejected Him on the other.

also..your math is bound to be off. First..you assume salvation is not available for those who have not heard the message. Second error, how does one go from 1/3 of world professes belief in Christ, and then drop the final result all the way to 2%. No sir...even if you were to say that 98% is reflective of ages and ages...it wasn't until within how many recent centuries that mankind crossed the one billion mark?

I do recall from my statistics course, that with 6 Billion people LIVING today, this number is higher than all combined living up until the last 200 years.

Fundamental Christianity has saved no one. For salvation comes not by works or deeds but by Jesus Christ. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
You are in error of the Holy Scriptures, you are judged by what has been taught to you. God is a God of mercy and of grace. He recognizes the failure of mankind to spread the word (so far) to all the reaches of the world. He will not judge those that never heard the name of Jesus on the same grounds of those that have heard the name of Jesus and rejected him. God will hold them to the law that have set in their hearts from the beginning. "For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do no have the law, do my nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares." (Romans 2:13-16)
2% receiving salvation goes against what the Holy Scripture says. In the parable of the sower it shows roughly 25% of the people accepting the Gospel message.

That is also what Jesus said, that "few there be that find it". However He does also say that in total from all the ages there will be an unnumberable amount of people saved, but by comparison to all who have lived, it will be very small.

Ever hear the term "dispensation", age of grace, church age, time of the Gentiles?
Do you actually think, if there really is a God, that He would cheat all those who died before Jesus was born? Thats not much of a god.
The Bible carries the central message of redemption all throughout. If you actually studied it-you would see just how silly you really are.
