Every person interprets god in his own way. But the dictionary meaning for god is spirit, idol, Supernatural power or a divine power.
As a simple human being without going into the depth of philosophy - I feel - god in every soul means - do gooder is god.
If we interpret as above, yes every soul a potential god (do gooder). We can find this in our epic Ramayana - Valmiki was a robber turned into a saint. The godliness of the soul got invoked, hence he became a saint.
In my real life also, I have seen many people whom we have observed as devils, have done some good to somebody. Hence every soul has potential to become god - though not forever and everybody.

a potential little God but not the Supreme God. Only God can know everything. We can not. Only God can know every souls heart and mind. We can not. Only God Possesses everything We do not. God never fort gets Himself we jiva souls can. We can become Godly, meaning we possess all the qualities of God but never in the same quantity. Like a drop of water form the ocean has all the qualities of the Ocean but never becomes the Great Ocean. Anyone who thinks they are GOD are DOG. God is the original source of everyone and everything.

Yes like every acorn has the potential to develop into a mighty oak tree. But here the difference is that soul has the potential to merge in the divine source or its origin which is GOD, and thus become GODLIKE.

Is every soul a potential God?
Soul a potential God?
I don't understand, soul is a person. God is also a person.
God wants man(soul) as His son.
Because He lives among His children.
Man says, 'why should I be for Him, let Him suffer'.

No! there is only one God. Should your soul be dead through sin it is a potential demon which forms clusters with other demons to kill, steal, and destroy.
It is that either you are good or bad-should your be good you go to heaven and should you be bad it becomes demonic in nature.
What you are talking about is the devtas as in what you have in the hill communities. A devta is not a god because there is only one God-devtas are demigods who when ejected from a human body come out exhibiting negative traits of killing, stealing and distruction.

No. God Is. Every soul was created by God, Who is beyond and other than His creation. A soul can progress just so far and no further.--into contact with the God that created it. We are not going to take His place. God made us to have communion with Him, not to take His condition from Him. We are limited; God is not. Human souls cannot perfect themselves, nor completely transcend the limitations of their created being.

In the beginning man is made in the image of God. Before the fall man is body, soul & spirit. After the fall man died spiritually (denied the Tree of Life) Then physically. The soul going where God puts the soul.
The man is in the image of God when they are born again. This is the spiritual birth, where the new spiritman blends with the soul. But then the soul/spirit is still in a corruptible body. And we need to renew our minds in Gods Word to overcome the lusts of the flesh (not reacting by yelling, cussing, etc...) but to make the soul choice to follow after the Spirit (faith, hope, love, joy, etc...). This is maturing in Christ.
Jesus, in His Humanity, was the express image of God. He never died spiritually, like the first Adam. So? Jesus was the Only Begotten Son of God & so there for the express image of God. Because He never sinned. He was tempted like the first Adam, but didn't sin.
The wages of sin is death. This is why death couldn't keep Jesus in the grave. So? Jesus raised up from the dead. The best way to be in the image of God is to be born again of His Spirit then renew our mind in Gods Word & follow after the Spirit.
But that doesn't make us God. God is the Creator. There is only one Creator. God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit. But we have the ability to be creative. But creating something out of something that was already made isn't being God. It is using resources. And inspiration of design many times come from God or Gods Angels.
I think Mormons think exalted man can be a God over their own heaven & earth. and make spirit babes with their wives, who will then inhabit their own earths. But that is really unscripturual according to the Holy Bible.

No, not EVERY soul. Take someone whose heredity is such that he cannot conceive of a Creator, until long long after he dies and goes to school in heaven? Let's say his heredity is strongly cannibal, and that killing is enjoyable to him. Let's say he sees no point in doing good deeds unless he is well paid for it and let's say money is the reason for about everything he does and what he understands best. How is the grade of such a person going to rise up to God-grade? He probably carries many dark spirits along with him, and they motivate him even though he would deny that they are there and even that they can exist. Low spirits have become FALSEGODS! I think you mean true Gods--True Gods are appointed by the Creator. False gods are appointed by themselves. The motive of a falsegod is "What can I get out of it?" And not "What can I do for others? "
Some souls go to hell for a long long time because they have spent a lifetime taking away from others in order to make self stronger.

Different religious viewpoints would bring differing answers but truly I think you are right...Hinduism has this concept at its core where:
Atman = Brahman - separated only by "Maya"...in other words self is unltimate reality separated only by the illusion of life.
Wnen Christianity is viewed not as a literal narrative but as a Myth then the same applies. The Archetype of Christ becomes the "template" for all humanity...
I'm sure the more fundament readers may be a little upset with this but ignorance and rigidity seems to pervade this forum.
Good luck in you journey.
