So doesn't that mean breathing is what makes a human alive?
So if a person wasn't breathing they would not be alive?

I think I know what you are getting at the unborn are not alive.
But in the bible it says somewhere help me out people.
that if you hurt a pregnant women and her baby comes out you are guilty of murder.
That child is not breathing before it is born but it is alive.

Being alive is not a true or false as a person can be basically dead and not breathing for several minutes with minimal harm to their brains.

On the other hand the biological definition of life is that it breaths, consumes food and reproduces. Under this definition, fire is alive, as it uses oxygen, consumes food and reproduces...

If a person is not breathing, logic states thier body is not alive.

Yes, it was the breath of God that gave humans life, in fact eternal life since the breath of God is eternal humans have an eternal spirit. That cannot die, but the the body dies if you stop breathing, that is pretty elementary.

No, unborn babies are not breathing and they are alive. It is the spirit of God that makes us alive.

What is life?

If we believe that life transcends physical or material death then life is not physical or material.

Therefore breathing is not required.

However, it may be said that breathing life into something is a methaphor for creating the spirit of life in a physical being.
