At times I do enjoy being alone but not all of the time. I love people and having fun with my family and friends but I think we all need some alone time.

Oh! There is no way to even "get used to it !!"....
People may even claim to enjoy it, but it is self-deception.... human beings are not 'designed' to enjoy loneliness!
Alone, YES, we can always learn to enjoy. Solitude, yes.. it helps keeping away from distractions for a person interested in re-discovering him-self !
So, loneliness, and being alone are entirely different things. Even when in a crowd, we can feel very lonely. People living in flats feel it very often (perhaps, that is why it is called "apart-ments" even when two houses are in the same building!!)

The question seems to be very Spiritual. Loneliness enjoyment implies to have direct relation with Spiritual Power that is with God. There might be very few persons on our universe to have such enjoyment. When the person enjoys loneliness then life & death, fame & defame, profit & loss etc do not effect on such persons. Thus they enjoy loneliness. I donot have such quality as stated by questioner and I do not any one who has answered the question may have such quality as stated by the questioner. Thank you very much for the questioner to ask very spiritual question.

I'm never alone other than maybe traveling and Jesus is right beside me and tells me that. I am never lonely because I keep close to my church family and in pray I feel so near the Lord that he is with me. I have never been lonely. Another thing when I get on the Internet I have a family here. All the Christians that are here. I feel close to them.

I enjoy having at least a little time to myself everyday, but I don't enjoy the feeling of being "lonely"

It is a myth, nobody can ever be lonely! Even if the people are not there, there is tree, air,light,warmth,cool- all interact with me, communicates with me in its own language, nurtures me,comforts me; why don't we look that way!
There is a story where one was asked go and eat the fruit in a place where nobody is there; he returns stating that he could not eat that fruit as there is no place where none exist, I see God everywhere!

at times when i'm just stressed from all the chaos and just want to be alone with my thoughts, but for the majority lonliness isn't that good on my part.I'm a pretty social person and always want to be around someone i love..so if i couldn't do that i'd probably smoke and drink way more than i do and kill myself earlier.Ever heard of Gia Carangi?Yep i can relate to the girl.
