when i was a kid, my parents always told me he was just a pretend guy. (not real). so i never believed in him. therefore i never had to learn that he wasn't real. if you believed in santa, how old were you when you found out he wasn't real and how did you feel about that?

I asked a question earlier today regarding why historians tend to agree on the existence of a historical Jesus, and received several answers suggesting I'm a crazed fundamentalist lunatic for even considering the possibility that a story that sounds like a work of fiction derived from OT exegesis, might actually be a work of fiction derived from OT exegesis.

The evidence of a historical Jesus is simply not overwhelming, and a lot of puzzles are greatly simplified without such an assumption, so why is it not valid to question it?

I was raised to believe in the Trinity concept of God, but I am starting to think of them as three separate beings. To me, God is God, Jesus is the Son of God and mediator for mankind, and the Holy Spirit is the presence of God in all people. I do not know if Jesus is to be considered AS God. Are there any passages in the Bible that prove or disprove this theory?

Last night I was in A.C. Moore picking up a few things. I noticed that the man standing behind me in line had covered his mouth and nose with his scarf. The lady he was with questioned him about it and he replied something like, "I see a lot of people with red noses. I don't want to get sick." Looking around, I realized he was right - a lot of people did seem to be coughing. I have a cold myself and was sniffling a bit, and a few of the cashiers were sick. The man continued to make remarks such as, "See? There's another lady coughing." Do you think this was rude at all? I think he may have been making some people feel uncomfortable. What do you think?

this is where that saying comes in.what goes around comes and will hit you up side your head. this is referring to that great scripture do unto other,or as you have messed with others you will reep or bear. die or live. or except and to choose or not to choose which way you are or are not going to be. you are as great as the ones you come in contact with and how they feel after being with you. we really need to see that we hurt our selve more when others are hurt as reslt of ourselves. and if we feel honoured about the abuse then we have been scard, angery and hurt and we as strong souled need to keep face and stand for jesus. the stregnth and rewards there after can only be blessing in your new world. se that the ones that hurt are also hurt. break the legacy. create your own.

I get why agnostics don't need to make any arguments, but both theists and atheists make definitive claims about God.

Don't atheists have any responsibility to make an argument if they make a claim?

I'm talking about the atheists who say God doesn't exist.

jelleba and/or hijab. Do people stare at you when you are in public? Has anyone done something to you, your spouse or someone you personally know, just because they knew or assumed you were Muslim. If so did it happen before 9/11, has it gotten worse since 9/11. Have any of you actually feared for your or your spouse's safety?

It is said that whoever says evil things about God shall never be forgiven. Here's the main problem: can this blasphemy still be committed today? If a person says something against God (for only ONCE) but repents and shows love for Him, will he receive salvation?

I've seen some other Christians say things that show they don't want anybody but Christians celebrating on Christmas. I bet most of the same ones want the sales people at Wal-Mart to always say "Merry Christmas" to everybody.

Now why would any Christian want to say Merry Christmas, but not mean it?

I wish you all a Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas, or just enjoy the day off from work (or extra pay if you work on the national holidays).

My niece is in high school and she was talking with me this week saying that the Earth is just one of many planets and wasn't the first planet ever created. I showed her in the Bible where the Earth was around before even light was created on day one even though it was void and formless but she doesn't believe in the creation in Genesis. Any website I can give her that will prove this by science? Thanks!

I was wondering about sex before marriage. Is it wrong? Because someone told me God wants us to be" fruitful and reproducing", then again, there are debates that it's immoral and a sin?

I have realised in the past few years after converting to aethiesm that I have copped alot of criticism. Such as on a forum I was looking at said "My definition of Aethiesm is Some know-it-all teenager who pretends to hate religion, but celebrates Christmas because s/he is a greedy hypocrite"

Not on! Howcome, religious people are allowed to criticise us, but when we criticise them, it's wrong!

My definition of Aethiesm is Some know-it-all teenager who pretends to hate religion, but celebrates Christmas because s/he is a greedy hypocrite" <-- That comment is pretty much calling us fakers, but then some full-on religious people believe that god made the world and then ALSO believed in the big bang-- One of them must be true.. You can't believe both! They reckon we're stupid for not believing and then they go and make a fool out of themselves by believing 2 things at once.

Please post your comments here.

There is this annual college winter conference hosted by the Campus Crusade for Christ. The conference last four days and it is really a blessing to go to a conference and receive blessings. I havent been to a Retreat like this in a while and I wanted to go to. However I have this job interview the second day of the conferences which delays my schedule of going? what is the best option? Give up on the job interview and go full days? or give up on going first day and go to the rest of the conference? What would you do? Christan Conference like this is once a year opportunity and company that is trying to interview is a good company.. How should I decide if I cant change the date of the interview? what would you do? what do you think is the best choice? go for job interview since it is hard to find a job? or go for Christian Conference? trusting God to give me the best job later although good company like this havent contact me and seems like it is a good opportunity?
