Last night I was in A.C. Moore picking up a few things. I noticed that the man standing behind me in line had covered his mouth and nose with his scarf. The lady he was with questioned him about it and he replied something like, "I see a lot of people with red noses. I don't want to get sick." Looking around, I realized he was right - a lot of people did seem to be coughing. I have a cold myself and was sniffling a bit, and a few of the cashiers were sick. The man continued to make remarks such as, "See? There's another lady coughing." Do you think this was rude at all? I think he may have been making some people feel uncomfortable. What do you think?

I think his initial answer to her question was acceptable but to continue pointing others out and commenting was pushing the issue. If you are out in public with a cold or other sickness it is good manners to cover your nose and mouth and keep your distance from others. It is nice to share but not the sickies. I'll pray for your cold and thanks for being sensitive to those around you.

I think he was just trying to prove a point, I would not read too much into that. I mean after all, the flu and cold are going around, my boyfriend just got over a cold, he's been sick for the last 3 days, and today he is finally feeling better today... I am so glad I did not get sick.

I think he has every right to take care of his own health. For all you know he may have an illness that causes a weakened immune system. Him pointing out others was a response to the woman he was with questioning him and pointing out his behavior which was rude. The women he was with that forced the issue was being rude. He was just responding to her.

And I have to say, who cares if it made others uncomfortable. I think it is rude to be out and about coughing and sneezing and sharing your germs with others unless it is an emergency. If more people had compassion for their fellow mankind and tried to avoid getting others sick, there wouldn't be such a need to protect yourself.

I'm with Donna W. He has a right to cover his mouth and nose but he certainly does NOT have the right to make others feel bad. People with colds want to stay home in bed because they're sick. If they're out there working, it's because they really need the money to put food on their tables. What a yutz.

Ask yourself THIS Question: Which is MORE "Rude"; expressing an unasked for Opinion- or going to a Store ill- & spreading that illness among those around you? Personally, I think that guy SHOULD have stayed home- & not been exposed to all those Rude people at A.C. Moore... But since he evidently HAD to go out, -don't you think he was at least ENTITLED to express an otherwise VALID Opinion??! :0

The man desiring not to catch a cold was understandable.
The pointing out like a drama queen, was quite rude.
I'm sure the people with the sniffles felt bad enough without
this duffass performing!

I wouldn't have been offended, but that's just me. I hate being sick.
