There are those who do believe in Jesus as the atoning sacrifice for the sin of mankind and those who accept him, but do not recognize his diety. Is that a critical component of salvation? Can you clarify why?

I helped my younger sister with her Christmas shopping today. She wanted me to help come up with some fun gift ideas for her friends and the rest of our family. She said that she also wanted to buy me presents too...whatever I wanted. There was a fun, colorful scarf I liked and she bought it for me. Then she asked me what else I wanted. I said that I was happy with just the scarf and she got irritated and said that she wanted to buy me more things. We're not fighting or anything, but she keeps asking me to make a list of things I want and she'll get them for me. I really don't want anything else and she already bought me a present that I really like. A part of me wants to make a list of random stuff so she'll stop asking, but another part of me doesn't want her to waste her money on me. What would you do in my situation?

you "learned(by hearing others in the church)" or "made up" a tongue so that you could be looked at as more spiritual and godly in the church?

Ok, lets, for arguements sake, say that the Christians are right (I almost gagged then...) would the living beings or Aliens on other planets be aware of bible god? Would the whole story of Genesis be similar on their planets? (And why weren't they mentioned in the earth bible?)
Is it possible there are alien Adams and Eves that didnt eat the forbidden fruit? If so, why not just cancel us out then focus on them? If not, how many times would bible god have had to go through the whole disobedience through free will thing?

Wouldn't he/she/it be asking him/her/itself "Where am I going wrong here?"

And further more, wouldnt jesus be damn sick of being crucified on planet after planet because of his dad's errors? If he isnt being crucified time and time again, would the Aliens be Jewish by default?

This guy at grad school just stares realllllllllllllly close to my face, really intensely, and until I looked he finally looked away really bashful...

We've never spoken, but everytime we make accidental eye contact, he quickly looks away.

And I always feel him staring at me whenever we're in the same vicinity...but we NEVER HAVE SPOKEN.

Does he want to talk to me? I tried once, but he quickly looked away yet he's ALWAYS watching me...ALWAYS...I don't feel uncomfy, but I don't know...

I have little doubt that the exhibits could be shown to be incorrect according to the evidence of science, and I suspect that there may be some historical misrepresentations as well. Is this reason enough to ask for an action of law to protect the public? Are the museum owners allowed to make blatantly false claims and profit from them under the law?

Biblically, thew museum exhibits and claims may or may not be a good interpretative representation and that could be ignored or forgiven either way, but the creation museum is making claims that are clearly damaging to the representations of established knowledge outside of the bible. They're "selling lies" as if they were true..... and I wondering if they could be held accountable for this in a court of law.

What do you say... ?

Case in point: (and by no means is this the absolute for all non-christians)

Athiests are opposed to ALLOWING Christians their right to public prayer. (public school has BANNED prayer in many states). *this is offensive
But Christians wish an Athiest a Merry Christmas and then get accused of being INSENSITIVE to their right not to celebrate a religion? (last I checked, saying Merry Christmas is nothing short of a wish for peace and love to that person!)

Your thoughts?

True story (as told to me by the client in question):

Software Developer neglects to email important information (conference call info) to client in a timely fashion (the client never received it).

His excuse: His email messaged must have collided with somebody else's email message, preventing it from reaching the client.

Heard any lame excuses?

after the usual claims of "god is god" and 'isn't god awesome' just won't cut it for the intellectually evolved, how does one cheer up an atheist who doesn't believe in Zeus, god, Jesus, allah, Thor and all of that to cure them by simply belief and prayer?

(I tried and he didn't seem to like being told to nevermind the holiday crap, it's over rated)

What is in the DNA of cousins that will cause their kids to have birth defects? Is this just an old wive's tale? I'm sorry I just don't understand how it works. I thought human beings all pretty much have the same DNA so what difference does it make whether you marry your cousin or someone who isn't related to you? Isn't DNA or genetic material all the same?
