If you want to learn more about the Church, I strongly suggest browsing http://www.mormon.org If you want more detailed information on specific doctrine, look it up at http://www.lds.org
If you are interested in the Church, you might wish to meet with the missionaries. You can set up an appointment online at http://www.mormon.org
As for the coffee, there is no addiction that cannot be overcome with the help of the Lord - even pornography. Pray to your Heavenly Father for strength, and for confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel.
I am excited for you :)
Oh, and if you still want something warm and coffeeish in the morning, look for 'Postum' at your grocery store near the coffee. It's a substitute to coffee, and it's made of toasted grains - no caffeine. I drink it all the time.

It's so awesome your interested in the church.
Your best bet is to clink on this link:
http://mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/
It's a church website for investigators like yourself. It explains our basic beliefs, tells you about where a close church is, and gives a place for you to ask questions.
Now.. if you seriously want to know all about the church.. you should meet with the missionaries, which is pretty easy to do. You can go to church one Sunday and they'll be there.. or if you go to the web site I linked for you.. then go to questions.. and ask for them to send missionaries to you.
They will, not a problem at all.
As for drinking coffee.. I am a convert to the church. I grew up in Miami and we drank a lot of dark rich coffees, and expressos, and such.. which I really loved.. but when I found the church and met with the missionaries.. let me tell you.. some doctrinal questions that I always wondered about.. and could never find an answer too from any person or scripture.. the missionaires were able to answer those questions and back it up with doctrine. It was amazing. Anyway, because of the things I learned.. I wanted to be a memeber so badly.. that even though I thought it would be a lot harder to give up coffee and alchol and smoking cigs.. I wanted to be a member of the church more. Does that make sense??? And so stopping was easy.
But quitting coffee is like anything else.. you learn to do with out.. and in the end.. you won't miss it.. if you really miss coffee there is that coffee subsitute.. Postem.. which taste pretty darn close.. but it isn't Coffee... and so it's a great way to satisfy that coffee desire, without breaking the word of wisdom.
Finally these folks on here telling you that we're not a Christian Church... let me tell you.. they are way off.
A Christian Church is simply a church that believes in Jesus Christ.
If you go to Dictionary.com and look up Christian.. here's some of the applicable definitions you'll see..
1. of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings: a Christian faith.
2. of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ: Spain is a Christian country.
4. exhibiting a spirit proper to a follower of Jesus Christ; Christlike: She displayed true Christian charity.
7. a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity.
8. a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ: He died like a true Christian
The thing is.. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. We believe in Christ, we exemplify His teachings and we celebrate Him as the son of God.
So why people think we're not Christians.. is beyond me.
Anyway... check out the website.. and try to meet with the missionaries.. they can explain everything.
My best wishes !
And finally let me tell you.. my joining the church back in 1993 when I was 21 years old.. it was the best and most important decision of my LIFE!
I hope it is for you too.
Regards !
P.S. By the way, the LDS dude up above who has his own Mormon website.. while it may be a good website..
I'll be honest, but your better off going to a LDS website that is affiliated with the church.. that way there is no misconceptions.
The link I provided you is affiliated with the church.

Mormons believe in God, we are Christians and we believe that Jesus died for our sins and that God is our Heavenly Father. We all have a purpose in life and can have eternal life and happiness and be with our family for eternities if we are worthy. I am super happy that you liked the church! I ⥠it too. I am almost a 10 month convert and love it, I know you will love it too.
About the coffee, let me tell you that before being Mormon, I was in love with Cappuccino and it was kinda hard for me to break the habit. Just chose another drink, eat something else, pray about it and set a goal with yourself that you won't drink it anymore... I'm serious, it is not that hard and you can do it!!!!!!!
If you want more info about the church go to http://www.mormon.org and http://www.lds.org and tell your branch/ward missionaries to visit you, they will be happy to do so and they will tell you all you need to know about the church. I warn you that YA is not the best place to get information about the church because here, many people bash us and make fun of us and say weird things about us because they know NOTHING about us. You can also email me or any of the other Mormon users in this page, we would be happy to help and the other Mormons here are AWESOME and I've made real life friendships with some of them, they're very nice.

What I can tell you is that they are so caring and so very friendly. My best suggestion is that you go and ask the missionaries for the discussions and that way you can get the right answers to the questions you may have about the church. Keep an open mind when you are having these discussions and you might be surprised at what they may have to say. Good luck.

Well, it is a Christian church (however we are very different than other Christian churches in some aspects) started in the 1800s by a named Joseph Smith. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he died for us, and that he is the Savior. We believe in the Bible, we believe in the Second Coming, we believe in baptism, all of that stuff. But we also use sets of scriptures called the Book of Mormon (a book we believe is a testament of Jesus Christ and also a record of the ancient Americans), the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. We believe that families are extremely important, as is keeping yourself morally clean.
You can learn more by going to LDS.org or mormon.com :)
Oh and if you want to break your coffee habit, maybe you could start slowly start substituting coffee for hot chocolate or another drink instead? That probably sounds lame but I don't really know how to help you out there because I've never even HAD coffee :P

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. Because Mormons believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ and consider Him to be the way to salvation, they are clearly a Christian denomination. It is true that they are not an orthodox denomination (they are neither Protestant, Catholic, nor Eastern Orthodox), because they don't accept the post-New Testament creeds, but their Christ-centered theology clearly qualifies them for the Christian label.
You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.
Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including:
1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.
Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ.

Well to help you...I'm Mormon and I love it...so your problem is drinking coffee. What I would do is that each day I would put less in my cup each morning until there is none. to help with the caffeine I would drink something like tea (not green or black) or hot chocolate or even energy drinks. The choice is up to you to stop the habit. it will talk awhile and patience but I know you can do it. just have faith in yourself and pray for guidance so you can stop your coffee addiction. hope this helped you in any way you needed it

you dont have to stop drinking coffee if you want a relationship with Jesus. Mormons enforce man made rules. Read your bible, repent and believe that Jesus did what He said. Read the book of John and then the book of Romans. Then read the rest of the old testament. It will show you how to have a relationship with Christ.
The mormons are very kind people, but they do not know the truth of the bible. I would suggest you do a lot of study about mormonism before you decide to join them. They will not tell you all their beliefs up front. My dad was a mormon. The mormon church is not based on the Holy Bible.
It is more based on the writings of their prophet Joseph Smith. Do a study on Joseph Smith, you will get more answers about the mormon faith from that since he was the founder of the mormon church.
