I was raised to believe in the Trinity concept of God, but I am starting to think of them as three separate beings. To me, God is God, Jesus is the Son of God and mediator for mankind, and the Holy Spirit is the presence of God in all people. I do not know if Jesus is to be considered AS God. Are there any passages in the Bible that prove or disprove this theory?

YES!!! Hallelujah, someone gets what I've been saying. I'll just give you the series of verses. You can read over them for yourself. Please feel totally free to e-mail me. I'd be more than happy to help. Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 40:9, John 1:1,14. John20:28, II Cor. 5:19, Col. 1:15, Col. 2:9-10, I Tim. 3:16, Titus 2:13.These are strictly about Jesus being God incarnate. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. Colossians 2:9 tells that all of the godhead(father, son,hg) dwelt in jesus bodily. God Bless!

In the end only you can make a decision about that. I'm willing to provide a trinatarian perspective. Jesus is God and God is Jesus. Both are in equal standing, the son isn't lesser than the father. There are some bible passages that may help you understand the Trinity.

Deut. 32:39; 1 Sam. 2:6 - the Lord kills and makes alive again and raises up - John 5:21 - the Son raises and gives life.

2 Sam. 22:3 - God is the horn of salvation - Luke 1:68-69 - Jesus is the horn of salvation.

Psalm 71:5 - the Lord God is our hope - 1 Tim. 1:1 - the Lord Jesus Christ who is our hope.

Psalm 97:9 - the Lord God is above all - John 3:31 - Jesus is above all.

Isaiah 48:17 - God is the Holy One - Acts 3:14 - Jesus is the Holy One.

Job 33:4 - "The Spirit of God made me and the breath of the Almighty has given me life." Only God is the creator of life.

Matt. 12:31; Luke 12:10 - Jesus says blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Only God can be blasphemed.

John 14:26 - the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all I have said to you.

Acts 8:29; 10:19-20; 11:12;13:2; Rev. 22:17 - the Holy Spirit speaks to us like a human person.

Remember in the book of John, Jesus said "me and the father are one". They are 3 essences in one entity. Three of them work together and they make up one Holy God.

Jesus said "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father." Jesus is God's avatar. He existed before the earth and the heavens were created. He is begotten (Son) not made. He is Emmanuel (God with us) and is true God and true man in union with the Holy Spirit which proceeds from the Father and the Son. The blessed Trinity is a mystery of the Christian faith and cannot not be fully understood by the carnal mind.

Hi, Astara:

Yes, Jesus is God, and our Creator. For one, read the first chapter of John, it tells you that everything was created by Him, and He called Himself: I AM, the name for God at the burning bush.

Now, to understand the Godhead, remember that in the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. That Hebrew verb is plural, meaning God is a composite of more than one. So "God said", Let US make man in OUR image. That is plural.

Then we find the LORD God walking in the Garden of Eden, that is Jesus. And so it goes.

As for the Holy Spirit being a force, that is what the JW's believe, but Jesus said He would send Him, and He will teach you all things." The holy spirit can be grieved, and when you blaspheme it, it is unpardonable.

Since the O.T. references is to the Lord, where is God the Father? Well, Jesus identifies Him, and says they are, you might say: "cloned twins." See John 17.for His explanation.

So be careful how you treat God, it is still a violation of the commandments to use His name in vain.

Perhaps you need read the Bible code that tells of God's plan to save us. It proves Jesus is the Messiah, and identifies Antichrist. see www.abiblecode.com

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are two separate physical beings, the Holy Ghost being a personage of spirit. If you look at the Bible from this viewpoint, then it actually makes sense.

The Father is one with the Son. One in purpose, separate in being.

Try looking at the trinity as a triangle. Each side is a line unto itself and as such, complete. When combined, they form a triangle- an entirety. Therefore they are one in purpose, yet each can stand alone. To Christians- Jesus is the son of God and the mortal Virgin, Mary. Many religions embrace this concept , or a similar one...gnostic look at the trinity as father, son and sophia (the female aspect). what is a comforter? a female attribute. I'd strongly urge you to look beyond the Bible.

Study the first chapter of John. The word was with God and the Word was God.

Also in Acts talking about the Holy Spirit it says you have not lied to man but to God.

"The Father and I are one" As you have seen me, you ahve also seen the Father.
The Eternal Son of God was the first begotton son and the expression of God source. Therefore God and Chirst are of one source. Therefore all that God is, so is the Eternal Son.
Because we contain the source of God as well but on a lesser scale, we are all sons and daughters of God.
Jesus said to those who said his Mother and brother arrived.
" Who are my Mother and who are my brothers as he looked around and pointed to each present.

The best example I got to explain the Trinity was my High School Science teacher.

He said Almighty God is like H2o (water).
Water has three forms: ice, steam, liquid.
Regardless its forms it is STILL H2o (water).

Read any of the gospels, really. They all have Jesus proclaiming himself to be the embodiment of God. John's is the most obvious example and has a clear theological point that he wants to make.
