My new neighbor is of the Mormon faith. I sent a x-mas card to them.(Just being neighborly)
Now, I'm thinking that I might have offended them due to my lack of knowledge regarding their beliefs.

Mine was stolen last night and they're already making fradulent charges on my accounts. Crappy time of year to have this happen. In addition they took now have my social security number. I'm cancelling everything I can think of and am now enrolled in an "ID Protection" program at my bank. I filed a police report.

I'm asking my friends on here that may have had something similar happen to them. What steps would you advise a person take in this situation? I don't want to miss something obvious and get even more burned.

Thanks.

I do! I mean I think as long as we are mature and have a desire to learn we should be able to attend unless its an inappropriate topic for women or something. I mean I understand there might be a few topics the men don't want us to hear because of modesty but I think most we can, you know? I am not trying to be a feminist either. I mean I understand men can get frustrated with women when they give their opinion at Bible studies b/c it can come off as feminist but atleast let us sit there and listen, you know? I want to know what others think. Maybe I am missing something as to why we shouldn't.

...earning commissions from both the givers and takers and thus sullying the social fabrics. How do they account for this exploitation, particularly of the toiling poor before God?

My family are all atheists.

At the end of 2004 my grandmother, my brother and I were in a very serious car crash and really none of us should be alive and I shouldn't be walking. We were lucky that my Grandparents had just bought a brand new car which saved us.

I had a bad spinal injury while my brother and grandma only had a few scratches.

My family are 100% atheist. But when I was in the hospital and my grandma came and visited me, she kept saying that God was looking out for us and that we must be thankful to him.

She's never spoken like this before or after the crash. Why did she turn to God when she was upset? What does this say about her beliefs?

Please don't try and convert me. I'm not interested. I have my own beliefs and they aren't Christianity.

Thank you.

I am straight so i wanted to ask anyone who is gay how they felt about the word "gay" and "F-g" mostly the f word used in a sense like.

someone saying "oh thats gay"
"shut up ya F-G"
"this is gay"
"don't be such a F-G"

stupid sayings like that. I am guilty of saying stuff like that sometimes but never knew if it effected people who were gay.

These sayings are probably heard more around school then anywhere else. Thanks for your feed back it will help me alot

I was listening to a Christian radio program earlier today, and the host spent about 30 minutes discussing why Mormons are not Christians. To sum it up, he basically said Mormons are not Christians because they believe things that aren't explicitly taught in the Bible.

So, is that the yardstick that most Christians go by? If it's not in the Bible, then it must not be true?

Why or why not?

Why do they reject eternal life in perfection, received through a free gift, without rational examination and prayer? Is life so worthless to them that the prospect of living forever seem bleak?

I know usually when the owner of a company is Christian, they're closed on Christmas. No offense to any other religions & holidays or anything, I was just curious as to why Starbucks is open 8am-5pm Christmas Day.

It seems to me that the Christians should be glad that the atheists are here. How often do you actually get to "witness" to a whole group of atheists?

Here, you got a bunch of atheists reading everything you write about your religion. Even if they do criticize what you believe in, they are still reading what you have to say. How often do any of you Christians actually have an opportunity to preach to a room full of atheists?

This seems like it should be considered a pretty unique and amazing opportunity from a Christian standpoint.

I am growing increasingly concerned for people asking and answering questions in R&S.
A lot of them appear to be off their meds or, as yet, undiagnosed.

I would like to know about things Indian Christians do in the holidays. I do know that western traditions are the norm like Santa Clause but I want to know more. If you want, you can write about traditions from a specifc state or city.

theres like 2 ways its really anoying. i say it like the english 'J'.

like ella. i pronounce it 'Ay-ja'
and some people say it 'Ay-yah'

it sounds retarded the second way, cuz i learned it the first way. and my spanish teacher (last year) was born in Puerto Rico (and left when she was 8) so she would know how to say it right.

i know 'tortilla' has the eniglish 'Y' way. but some things sound better with the english 'J'.

thanks♥

I know that someone else has asked this in a different section, but if you are and it is not by choice, then my thoughts are with you and I will raise a glass to you as I do every Christmas morning at 11am, and to all who cannot be with us. I hope some of you will join me, although it will be tea, as I will be at work.
