It was at hand but the Jews did not accept Jesus.
Now we have to wait.
Peace

At 2007 after Christ, the bible has only been in circulation in the world 396 years and it is in the time of the end that it is supposed to be made known,
at yr 3460, Daniel gives 2520 yrs to Rev.12:3,4,6-11,12 [ Michael, THE WORD and Satan's short time in the time of the end ]; Matt.13:37-39; 24: 3,7, 14, 15, 21,22, 36-39' 25:31-34; All these scriptures are for the time of the end. SO THE KINGDOM IS TO COME.

These warnings to repent are invitations to join up, because the KoG is now "open membership" and it is time to take God up on the offer, for the Messiah is soon to take the throne as in Daniel 7.
Passages like this which see the Kingdom as "not yet" look forward to the enthronement, but also anticipate the "already" of persons joining by repentance and making the KoG a present reality on earth.

1) the kingdom being at hand can mean various things.
-the kingdom is at hand because jesus is there.
-the kingdom will be opened when he is crucified died and resurrected
2)
-the kingdom will be extendedto all nations on earth, including gentiles, see both old testament prophesies and the book of acts especially
-this in turn means the kingdom is the church that he came to establish, again see the book of acts, the church he established came to be known as the hoyl roman catholic and apostolic churchfounded on st.peter
-the kingdom on earth becomes the heavenly liturgy at every roman catholic mass, especially during the eucharist where heaven comes down and when the priest says "lift up your hearts" and we reposnd "we lift them up to the lord" at that point we are raised up into the heavenly liturgy and both are joined and come together. it is at this point it appears to us., and like in revelations we have incense, white vestments, the prayers of teh saints and the angels singing holy holy............
this is only a portion to understand i offer this website, it details gods plan of salvation history and how it meets its fulfillment in the church chrsit established and especially in the eucharist.

The expression "At Hand" can be taken to mean a year or 1,000 years. Either way, it is true as all of time taken as a whole is the blink of an eye to God. In addition, the Kingdom of Heaven is always at hand to those who believe when they leave this world.
The Time is at Hand.

It did appear, it does appear. The Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven (which is Matthew's pious term) is manifested in the lives and hearts of those who live according to God's commands: Love the Lord your God, and Love your neighbor as yourself. The Kingdom of God is not an earthly kingdom, with Jesus reigning as a literal King; it is a spiritual state of being, where Christ reigns in our hearts and minds.
Peace to you.

He was there, wasn't he.
His spirit is here with us now.
Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
The strong man he is talking about is the devil. He did what he was talking about when he arose from the grave.

A lot of the time when Jesus spoke of the kingdom he was talking about the church. I don't mean a particular ecclesial body, but all of his called out ones. So it was at hand because he was the one who founded the church.

The Kingdom of Heaven is the Church which was established shortly after His death and resurrection. The book of Acts is the history of the establishment and development of the christian church.

I don't like to say that...I think we should all live as though He is coming every day but not wonder about it--that's just strange. I'm sure at many times during history, "the end" was near, so you are right, it leads to mistrust and disbelief.
