It's just one more way for the high and mighty people in the company to make moeny. You know very well none of them are going t work on Christmas. It works the same way for the company i work for. Management gets the holiday off while all the little pee ons have to work. Personally I don't see why anyone has to be open Christmas day even Walmart closes for Christmas. Closing for one day of the year is not going to make the company go broke.

Each Starbucks is open or closed strategically on Christmas Day. Each district decides which stores will be open and the decisions are confirmed by each district manager.
In our district, for example, only the Starbucks with higher volumes are open. Ours, on the other hand, will not be open due to its mall location and "regular" customer volume.

Movie theaters are also open and the Starbucks near me was open Thanksgiving as well. It's all about getting more money, since so many people have that day off it is a good way to get some business since alot of other places are closed.

Starbucks is a publically traded company--so the "main owner" is the stockholders.
Stockholders expect a company to make a profit in order to reward them for their investment. In turn, Starbucks decided they could make money by remaining open.

Why should the world stop for an over-commercialized holiday? It's just another way for corporations to rake in cash. Who cares about Christmas?

Not all Starbucks nation-wide are open on Christmas. Just the ones that will be profitable that day.

Because people still leave their house on Christmas. We can't halt all businesses everywhere just because of a religious holiday.
