It seems to me that the Christians should be glad that the atheists are here. How often do you actually get to "witness" to a whole group of atheists?

Here, you got a bunch of atheists reading everything you write about your religion. Even if they do criticize what you believe in, they are still reading what you have to say. How often do any of you Christians actually have an opportunity to preach to a room full of atheists?

This seems like it should be considered a pretty unique and amazing opportunity from a Christian standpoint.

I also agree, but unfortunately by now, most of the "supposed Christians" have thoroughly alienated the Atheists.
I am sorry to say that. Because Atheists keep laws, love their family, pay taxes, would probably help you if you fell in a parking lot.
Even the Bible agrees with that
Romans 2:14 For whenever the people of the nations that do not have Gods Law, do by nature the things of the Law , these people, although not having law, are a law unto themselves 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness to them and , between their own thoughts they are being accused or excused.
16 This will be in the day when God through Christ Jesus judges the secret things of mankind according to the good news I declare.
It is not up to US to judge anyone on any basis, it is Gods Job!
So a little more kindness is in order towards Atheists as the bible clearly shows!
Thank you for bringing that up! I am sick of the war on answers.

What Christians are you referring to? And what do you mean by "complaining"?

I myself am glad to answer honest questions, such as asking why do you believe "thus-and-so". I don't have the time to waste answering flames, rants, and other drivel where there is no attempt to dialogue, exchange ideas, or such. Example: a few days ago there was a post from someone asking how people felt about a certain topic (I don't remember what it was). A lot of people stated their feelings, using words like "I would feel . . ." but the asker kept on saying, "you didn't read my question . . ." etc. So if that's something you refer to, that is a whole lot different than an honest difference of opinion.

Besides, the atheists are preaching their faith to us, and I hope we can share the message and love of our Savior to them and with them. But it isn't fair to ask someone to listen to their beliefs and not extend the same courtesy.

Good point, but I think the reason is that it can make people uncomfortable to be around others who don't share their beliefs, if their faith in those beliefs is rather weak, and they know they are unjustified.
