Things are really tight right now since I bought the new Lincoln Towncar. So, I put a post dated check in the collection plate. People watch me when the plate comes by so I don't want to just pass it on without putting something in. So, I put a post dated check for 2009 in the plate. Hopefully, I will have a little extra money in the bank by then. I'm good for it. I really am.

Father K exluded. I am sure that he is telling the truth about being a priest because he knows scripture and gives polite answers. I don't see him insulting those who disagree with him.
As for (most) of the rest of these professional preachers, after reading their rude posts and listening to the names that they call people who disagree with them; I am starting to believe that they are "posing" about what their profession is. The way that they communicate is sure not the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The majority of them can't even quote a Scripture.

Is it just me or has anyone else suspected that they are bearing false witness as to what their profession is? I would like to hear from others what they think - one way or another.

This is not meant as an insult against any particular denomination. It is questioning the people who are supposedly preaching the word of God.

I do not anyone's lips on my baby. The only ones that is allowed to kiss my baby is her grandparents, her brother, her aunties and uncles, and me and my husband. Naturally as a chef I am going to be working as normal over Christmas but at the beginning of this month, my housemate announced that he's going to be staying with a friend throughout December (possibly mostly so he doesn't have to pay a share of the gas and electric.). Is anyone else left alone in a shared house situation where all your housemates have buggered off to be with their friends and families instead of with you. Do you not long for a proper Christmas in the place YOU regard as home?

I've met plenty of people from both groups, and they're good folks. Why do other Christians (yes, they are Christians) give them so much trouble?

They never did. The Jews and the Protestants removed books from the OT. The Catholic Church simply received the Septuagint version of the Hebrew scriptures, from the Jews, at the time of Christ. This became known as the Old Testament. 70 years later, the Jews removed 7 Old Testament books from the Septuagint. The reason given for this was that they could no longer find those books in Hebrew.

In 1529, Martin Luther removed the same 7 books from the Catholic Old Testament, that the Jews had removed1400 years earlier. Luther also removed 4 New Testament books (Hebrews, James, Jude, and Revelation) that did not agree with his theology, for his German translation. These books were removed from their original place in the order of the books and placed together at the end of the Bible. In later editions, he was persuaded to return the New Testament books to to their proper position in his translation of the Bible. Today Protestant Bibles don’t contain 7 Old Testament books at all.

I'll just slip on a comfortable robe and do some dusting and house cleaning while they tell me stories about the prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. They really seem to enjoy my company because they keep coming back every week.

Many Christians on this site claim that those who do not fight for what they believe in are cowards. I totally disagree with that. People fighting for what they believe in is what has caused the vast majority of evil in this world. Hitler fought for what he believed in. Napoleon fought for what he believed in. Genghis Khan fought for what he believed in. The Crusades were the result of 2 very large groups of people with different beliefs fighting for what they believed in. No, the people who resist fighting for what they believe in are the real hero's. The ones who fight are the cowards.

I've heard many atheists, agnostics, etc tell me this is why they celebrate Christmas-- because it was originally a pagan holiday that Christians stole.
So my question is, are the Easter traditions strictly Christian or are they borrowed from other religions/pagans too?
If they aren't, why do some atheists still celebrate Easter?

Jesus said he came for the lost sheep of Israel, the Jews, and not for the gentiles. Paul later decided to include the gentiles, even though he had no authority to do so, and never met Jesus to get permission. If Christianity is right, then Paul must have more authority than Jesus. How does that work?

I know that sounds very shallow minded but I thought I might catch the eye of someone who is a gay male or knows a gay male. He's very artistic (draws amazing! his stories are extremely creative), he likes macabre things and likes being "different". Last Christmas was awful! We didn't know what to get him. He's not very feminine either nor is he very butch... I guess he's a futch because he's a little of both. Oh, and he's 19. Any ideas?!

A Chinese couple gets married. She's a virgin and,
truth be told, he is none too experienced either. On
the wedding night, she cowers naked under the bed
sheets as her husband undresses. He climbs in next to
her and tries to be reassuring:

"My darring" he says, "I know dis yo firs time and you
berry frighten. I pomise you, I give you anyting you
want, I do anyting... just anyting you want, you say.
Whatchou want?" he says, trying to sound experienced,
which he hopes will impress his virgin bride.

A thoughtful silence follows and he waits patiently
(and eagerly) for her request. She eventually replies
shyly and unsure, "I want... numba 69!" More
thoughtful silence, this time from him. Eventually, in
a puzzled tone he queries... "You want... Beef wif Broccori?

Exactly the same as burning in Hell?

2007-12-16 13:16:30 · 40 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

"All you may know of heaven or hell
is within your own self."

"From what may anyone be saved?
Only from themselves!
That is, their individual hell.
They dig it with their own desires."

Cayce's breakdown of Revelation:
http://near-death.com/experiences/cayce10.html

Cayce was Christian, BTW.

Cayce said that hell is a place we go after death to face our demons...our own evil desires, guilt, etc, that keep us from the Light (Christ-consciousness). We are reincarnated until we obtain the perfect Christ-consciousness. This fits in nicely with this scripture, if you consider that hell is facing ourselves, and that until we do so, we are reincarnated again and again:

John 3:19:
19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

Iraqi christians are suffering in iraq (im one of them) i do not know why the media put blind eye on the suffering. Before the war there was 3 million iraqi christians in iraq... after the war there is only 700,000 iraqi christians...some of them ran away to other countries (like me) and others died because they are christians....muslims are focring us to convert to islam, getkilled, or pay (al jzya) which is islamic law that forces non-muslims to pay tax, ...so i decided to leave iraq because there is no way that im converting to islam im CHRSITian and proud...it is sad to leave iraq because christain iraqi including chaldeans and assyrians are native iraqis...its our home

this is video showing how muslims are treating iraqi christians in iraq
