Very sad.

We saw Dan Fogelberg in an unplugged solo concert in St. Paul in about 1983. We were emotionally drained as we drove home from his unforgettable performance. He was an exceptional song writer and his words really stir the emotions. He was a master of respectful sentimentality. "Same Old Lang Syne", "Hard to Say" and "Leader of the Band" are just a few examples.

Doesn't it make you feel OLD?

Sad news.......May his Legacy always live on;

There is no darkness in this place
that we're bound
Love is the only thing that matters
Don’t look down
Though your heart may be weary
Don’t look down
Though your wings are on fire
Don’t look down
Though the night may seem endless
There’s a reason you’re flying
this fast and this far
Let your faith be your strength
And your love be your guiding star
~Icarus Ascending, Dan Fogelberg

I had his album .on cassette - the one with Longer and Beggars Game and Power of Gold and Why is love always the last to know. (Twin Sons of Different Mothers?) I wore that cassette out playing it so many times - pure poetry and passion. RIP Dan

I'm not familiar with him but I do know that Floyd Red Crow Westerman passed on to the spirit world on December 13th. He will be missed. I have a dedication to him on my website at http://www.rubysbooks.i8.com. The dedication is on my page titled "Ruby's Wish List." I'm praying that my new book becomes a movie and I wanted Red Crow as one of the stars.

He will be greatly missed. I had never heard of him until I had a roommate who's beau sang his stuff. I could listen for hours. So then I started getting his stuff. My favorite is still the album with his self portrait. Loved his music and too young to go............

No, I hadn't heard that. What a shame. He was indeed a great singer & I enjoyed his music so much. He will surely be missed. Thanks for letting us know.

**for those who didn't know what he died of, it was prostrate cancer. It was in the advanced stages when detected in 2004. He's singing in heaven now.
