I know that sounds very shallow minded but I thought I might catch the eye of someone who is a gay male or knows a gay male. He's very artistic (draws amazing! his stories are extremely creative), he likes macabre things and likes being "different". Last Christmas was awful! We didn't know what to get him. He's not very feminine either nor is he very butch... I guess he's a futch because he's a little of both. Oh, and he's 19. Any ideas?!

do they live together? if so maybe something for the house.
or a gift card to bed bath and beyond Love that store and my brother in law who is gay not that there is anything wrong with that loves it....or a shirt...I wouldn't make a big deal because he is gay.
I bought my Bro in law a braun 360 shaver a bit pricey..
Last year it was a candle that had rocks around it he liked it
and a starbucks gift card.

Why are you buying a gift based upon his sexuality?
You should ignore the sexuality issue for gift giving and just buy him something that a 19 year old with his interests would like.
[That will require that you actually talk to him about his favorite things and gain in-depth knowledge of his interests.]

Get him a large set of Prismacolor colored pencils. They are not cheap but they are the best for artists. Also you could get him a blank book.....almost like a diary but it is just to write in

Candles! They are neither gendered. Every one likes candles. Get him a rock garden with scented candles. Or maybe a fountain. They are nice to look at. My brother liked candles.
