Every year my mom asks me what I want for Christmas. Every year I tell her anythng BUT clothes. This is because I have an odd shaped body (big hips, small waist) and I really need to try clothes on. Every year, without fail she buys me clothes and usually she'll buy me some awkward size that isn't even close. So this year, I am pregnant. Mom bought me maternity clothes to be comfy in. I have not seen them yet, but I am sure they won't fit. They never do. After five years of the same thing, I am so frustrated. This year I am going to her house for xmas and I think I might sob when I open them. How can I prevent that? I really don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know she had good intentions. This year I told her that she should just buy stuff for the baby since we don't have anything, or make a donation in my name.
Have you ever recieved a gift that you really hated, and the giver could tell by the look on your face? What did you do? I know I am being a big brat.

When I think gentlemen, I think a guy who holds the door open, lets the lady have the right of way, is poilite to her, etc. And I think if a guy is dating someone he should stand when she enters the room. I'm 16 but a bit old fashioned. Can I hope for any guy who is a true gentleman? Would any guys out there consider themselves gentleman? And girls what else do you think a gentleman should do?

Out of all the people who get a lot of publicity, he is the one who annoys me the most.

How can you say that you are looking for the truth about psychic ability when proper scientific practices aren't even in place?

First of all, he offers one million dollars to anyone who can demonstrate psychic ability - yet he has denied every application of entry up until this current day.

His offical website and the staff there who answer the emails of application also moderate the forums there. There have been also several reported incidents of people complaining about how James Randi is yet to accept people who offer to complete his challenge and the forum modertors post these private emails and pick them apart in front of the posters - they're basically internet trolls with power.

How can this be a ligitimate proof of there being no existance of psychic ability when he doesn't even let anyone attempt the challenge?

The million dollars are also paid in bonds, which is also sketchy.

I grew up in a Full Gospel/Pentecostal style church, where we had lively praise and worship. I got saved and baptized at a very young age.

To be honest, I'm just tired of it. Ireally haven't changed all that much. I've studied the Bible through five times (we study through it once a year)

I'm not really much of a sinner, don't drink, smoke, curse or hate or fool around... It's just not my personality. I'm a relatively simple guy..

But I'm tired of believing in the Bible. I just feel silly, believing all those stories and miracles. Something deep inside me feels like a hypocrite when I feel like I just have better sense than that, you know?

Something in me simply wants to live life on my own terms. My Christian friends have stopped talking to me. I do not have one single reason to keep up this charade. I simply do not believe the Bible the whole thing is patently ridiculous.

I'm just not satisfied with Christianity and my imaginary and pressured relationship with Jesus.

We have a giving tree at our church, and I looked and looked for an angel I could give a gift to. Every time my glance and heart pulled toward a green colored angel that say "Boy 4 years old."

For months I've been seeing this incredibly cute guy, in the streets, in the bars, everywhere. He makes Ryan Phillippe look like Wallace Beery on a bad morning. Finally I decided I had to do something. I had to meet him! Then one morning at our neighborhood cafe, I heard someone call him by name--"George."

At the bar the next night I went up to him and clasped his hand in both of mine, "George! (I said) Oh, my god it's been ages! You look great. Meet my friend Sam Jones. Sam this is George...I'm sorry, I've forgotten your last name." He told me and then admitted he had forgotten both of mine which I quickly supplied and suggested we exchange numbers so not to lose touch again.

Well, that was the beginning. I've had lunch with him a couple of times, and we've hung out a few times. He still thinks we met before, and that he just forgot. Was this wicked of me? Do I confess?

I have noticed some ppl are using this statement as being proof that God told ppl that the earth was round! I need to critique that because ppl where not stupid back then! I look at my home boys in Greece for example- their contribution to the world their thoughts,education and rational thinking stems futher back the Jesus and all the rest! But ppl saw that moon as a ball, the sun was round too and the stars are round as well - how far do you have to think to understand that your planet was round as well?! It sort of floors me that some of you Christians think that that is an argument in favor of the existence of God and the his words in the Old testament!!!!!!

Any thoughts on this?????????????

I know this retarded kid (about 13) who believes in Jesus. He just believes in Jesus without any studying or active reason.

I'll ask him where will he go when he dies and he'll say, "To Jesus!" and clap his hands...

I also know this retarded muslim kid (about 12) who believes with all his heart that Allah is God and that Mohammad is God's chief prophet and Jesus is second to Mohammad. He believes this with all his heart.

I know of a retarded buddhist kid who does not believe in one single deity, but in a collective enlightenment... He too believes this with all his heart.

....and yes - I do know a lot of retarded people...

Q: Does it take a certain amount of retardation in order to believe things based solely on faith?
