We have a giving tree at our church, and I looked and looked for an angel I could give a gift to. Every time my glance and heart pulled toward a green colored angel that say "Boy 4 years old."

Friends, what could I get a boy that needs a gift.
This is for inner city kids, so would it be a toy or clothing? Your thoughts.

You pick an angel, buy a gift, and then they take it to some center where all kids gather together to get gifts.

You can get a few new outfits or some stuffed animals. Parents of small children usually appreciate new clothes so make them maybe a little bigger than what's suggested. If unsure go with a 5T or 5 that's usually the next size for that age.

There are many toys out there for 4 year olds that are new and current. Go to a toy store and ask for recommendations. Not only will they know the latest things they'll know age appropriate toys. It's better to get for the right age and him to be more advanced then to get something that's too old for him that he can't use.

I think something he can play with would be most appreciated...by the child, at least. How about a bike? Bicycles for small children aren't super expensive and that's what most of the kids on our Angel Tree asked for this year. You might think about including a helmet too -- I think it's the law in most states that children have to wear helmets when riding bikes, skateboards, etc.

Honestly, I would find something to do with the movie CARS and buy it, they sell all kinds of things at KB Toys and Toys R Us. I have two nieces and one nephew and all of them are obsessed with that movie. I'll admit I like it a lot too.

Good Luck Shopping!

lol...I went wild one year on a little kid...I think in 93-94, i guess...he was crazy about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ...I did the range of things the child might need...shoes, clothes, p.j.'s, jacket, toys, all were tmnt themed...they actually told me I had gone overboard...

anyway...I would get something the kiddo needed...and then a toy or something to play with...
