We made our usual trip to the grocery store today. My mom is 97 and uses a walker. While I shop she picks up a couple of things in her little basket and walks the aisles for exercise.

At the checkout, my mom came up behind me. A cashier from another line brought a store gift card to my mom and said it was a $10 gift card from another shopper and Merry Christmas. My mom took the card but was not sure what was going on.

She walked up to me and said her legs were giving out, so I took her two items and ran them through with mine. She sat on a bench they have near the checkout lines.

After I got my basket, I went to help her up from the bench. She started fussing at me for getting her a gift card. I told her i didn't do it......so then she blamed my husband who was home taking a nap. She finally got the idea that it was a gift from a stranger. she said there was no way she could accept it (Money is not a problem with her)

I would say I am a man of faith (Christianity), but when I ask for forgiveness its hard to ask for it.. I mean, I know im gonna sin again or have the same thoughts again. To tell you the truth im scared as hell about facing his judgment. What should I do?

I mean the visual ads, whether in print or on TV or whatever. There's a white man, a white woman, a black man or woman, an Asian (usually) woman, and a Hispanic man or woman. I'm not denying that a lot of people have a diverse group of friends, but the ads are just too, for lack of a better word, obvious. What do you think? Thanks all!

from a professional setting. Since the gift is not expected and he's married, it's crucial that the gift is not too personal. The ideal would be to get something his family/wife can enjoy also but I don't know them to know what they need. Gift certificates not an option.

If Sola Scriptura cannot be the correct method of determining the truth because of the religious division among churches that claim to use Sola Scriptura (Protestants), then does this Not also disqualify the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches method of using "Apostolic Tradition", since they are divided against themselves?
Both the Orthodox and Catholic churches claim to follow Apostolic Oral Tradition EXACTLY.
Both of these churches use this method yet are divided.
Why are they Not even in Communion with each other?

Does that mean God has a penis? Does it mean he has a belly button? That wouldnt exactly make sense because God was not born of a woman hence no need of a belly button, also he does not sexually reproduce so he shouldnt have a penis. But if he created man in his own image than that must mean God has a penis. But why would God need a penis? Why would God need a head even, or a mouth? Does he eat? Does he have a stomach? Does he have a butthole? I mean would he need to take a crap? Did adam and eve have a belly button? I mean they were created by God and like him they were not born so they couldnt have had a belly button (because a belly button is a result from the umbilical cord feeding you in the womb). How would you explain this?

My friend insists that he is negatively affecting others lives through the burning of his own harsh Karma. He is convinced that he is contaminating everyone close to him, that their lives are becoming more and more difficult (to the extreme) as his own Karma is burned away. I have never heard of this and would like to hear from the most knowledgeable in the forum, especially Hindus and Buddhists (all ancient Eastern wisdoms). It does not make sense to me that others would have to pay someone else's Karma. Thank you for helping me to understand this.

a conceptus has the potential to become a human being. so does every spermatozoon and every ovum. (should women be forced to have intercourse every single cycle from menarche to menopause)?

a conceptus clearly isn't a human being. we don't ask a conceptus to pay taxes, we don't send them to school, the roman catholics won't baptise them, the baptists won't circumcise them, and they don't get put in expensive caskets and laid out in funeral homes when they are shed with the rest of the uterus lining at the end of the month (2/3 of them are).

though one can see why even the handiest of fundamentalists wouldn't want masturbation called murderous.
