I mean the visual ads, whether in print or on TV or whatever. There's a white man, a white woman, a black man or woman, an Asian (usually) woman, and a Hispanic man or woman. I'm not denying that a lot of people have a diverse group of friends, but the ads are just too, for lack of a better word, obvious. What do you think? Thanks all!

the problem is being politically correct. It strikes me that being politically correct is a sham--you can't have it both ways. I think as long as you are correct , then you are good, if not, apologize, correct it, then move on. Being politically correct is just a snow job anyway.

Advertising has to appeal to all segments of the population. So the more diverse the coverage, the more representative the product is to the whole. Since advertising pays for all programming on TV the sponsor can chose who his target is now, who it will be tomorrow, etc. If he wishes to cover the spectrum , that is his call since he is paying the big bucks.
